Primarily we develop on the Microsoft stack using .Net, MSSQL and Azure but if that doesn’t float your boat, we also work with other technologies and systems.

🏛️ Annual review with West Dunbartonshire Council

Last week, we visited West Dunbartonshire Council for our annual review meeting - taking time to reflect on the work we’ve delivered together over the past 12 months and discuss plans for the year ahead.

These meetings give us a valuable opportunity to step away from individual projects and look at the bigger picture:

🛠️ Identify opportunities for further improvements
💡 Explore new functionality and developments within Umbraco
🗓️ Plan priorities and upcoming projects for the next 12 months

We work with a number of public sector organisations, and building strong, long-term relationships is a big part of our approach.

Getting together face-to-face helps us better understand our clients’ objectives, share ideas and make sure we’re focusing on the areas where we can add the most value.

A really productive catch-up with the team, and plenty to look forward to over the next 12 months. 🤝

🚀 Why we're excited about Umbraco 17

A lot of our focus so far this year has been on upgrading our clients' websites to Umbraco 17, the latest Long Term Supported (LTS) version.

Why?

Umbraco 17 provides a stable, secure platform for the long term, while introducing a range of new features and improvements for both content editors and end users. 💻⚙️

One of the biggest areas of interest for many of our clients is AI. 🤖

Moving to v17 opens up new possibilities for integrating AI with Umbraco websites - from helping editors work more efficiently and saving time on everyday tasks, to exploring new functionality that can improve the experience for website users. ✨

It's an exciting area, and one we're actively working on now with our clients as their platforms continue to evolve.

LTS vs STS – What's the difference? 🤔

If you've been looking at Umbraco 17 and Umbraco 18, you might have noticed they're both current releases.

So... which should you choose?

📌 Long-Term Support (LTS) versions are supported for longer and are the recommended choice for most organisations.

⚡ Standard-Term Support (STS) releases give access to new features but have a shorter support lifecycle.

For many of our clients, stability and longevity are the priority - which is why we're currently recommending Umbraco 17 LTS for upgrade projects.

🏛️ A new digital home for Barnsley Museums

We're excited to be working with Barnsley Museums on a brand new website project, currently in its early stages. This continues our partnership with Barnsley Council.

The aim is to bring multiple venues and visitor experiences together under a single digital platform, making it easier for users to discover what's on, plan visits and access information across the entire Barnsley Museums offering. 🗺️✨ As part of this, the project will support Barnsley Museums' ambition to make heritage and culture more relevant and accessible to local residents, while encouraging more visitors to the borough.

As part of the project, we're providing UX consultancy to help map key user journeys, understand audience needs and create a sitemap that supports the site's primary user personas. 👥💡

Accessibility will also be a key focus throughout. As a public sector website, the new platform will be designed to meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards 🌐, helping to create an inclusive experience for all visitors.

We're looking forward to sharing more as the project progresses towards launch later this year. 🚀
