It was sad and hard, closing a business I loved and was known for.

A decade of work, gone, because our family had an amazing opportunity to build a house in a different county.

Starting again taught me a lot. It taught me what I was good at, what matters to me, and what I want to be known for next.

I was good at making people trust me before they’d even met me.

That’s why I care so much about personal branding.

It’s not always clear how to show up online, what makes you different, and how to create content that builds trust with the right people.

I’ve lived it, not just read about it.

And that isn’t the half of it.

Effective social media is made up of a lot of moving parts.

Hooks. Captions. CTAs. Reels or carousels. Stories. Content ideas that work for your business. Personal branding. Content funnels. The buyer journey and more.

And you’re being told something different every time you scroll 🙄

Right now, you might feel overwhelmed and resentful of social media marketing. Thinking you’re just bad at it.

You’re really not.

It means no one has helped you understand what it all means and how to use it in the right way for your business.

It’s not something you learn overnight, but it is so much more achievable than it feels right now.

My job isn’t to add to the overwhelm. It’s to pull it apart and replace it with a calmer outlook on your social media. 💙

So, your knowledge builds, your confidence grows, and your content starts attracting and converting the right people.

Great news for service providers, this change works in your favour.

The days are gone when polished, professional content was the best performing on Instagram.

Now, raw, real, human content is what wins, and that means you are the strongest strategy for your business.

People want to get to know the person behind the brand; that is what draws them into your world and the services you offer.

Swipe to see what your content actually needs.

I am not going to say this is an easy change to make, because we often find it hard to bring that side of ourselves out in our social media marketing.

Once you start though, it becomes second nature.

Now you know what you need to create, and if you feel unsure, one hour with me focused on you and your business will help move you forward.

DM me POWER, and we will work it out together.

It’s a useful Instagram feature.

You can now reorder your profile grid. 🙌

If you’ve ever posted something and immediately wished it sat somewhere else, or your grid just looked a little off-balance, this one’s for you.

It’s rolling out now, so not everyone has it yet, but it won’t be long.

This reel shows you how simple it is to move posts around your grid.

Now, a small but important note to remember is……..

Moving things around to balance the look of your grid is a great option to have, but an ultra-aesthetic grid no longer performs.

What works right now is sharing content that is less polished, more real, more you.

So use this feature to tidy things up a little, don’t obsess over a colour palette that no longer drives results.

Your grid plays a big role in whether someone decides to follow you. It’s the second thing they look at after your bio.

I don’t like rules. Do any of us?

I’ve never been particularly good at being told what to do. (Still got a bit of the rebellious teenage girl in me.)

But there is one content rule I follow every single time I sit down to write.

If I can’t explain what a post is FOR in one sentence, it doesn’t get written. Full stop.

Because if I can’t explain its purpose clearly, there’s a good chance my audience won’t understand it either. And confused people don’t stop and read. They scroll.

Your social media content should only have one job.

This post? Its job is to build trust.

I’m doing that by giving you one simple thing you can use before you write your next piece of content to make creating content easier.

Swipe to see the different job roles your content can have →

I know that’s easier said than done when you’re busy running a business and trying to fit content creation around everything else.

If you’re unsure how to bring purpose into your content, that’s exactly what my Power Hour is for.

DM me HOUR, it’s amazing how much you’ll learn in just 1 hour

Nobody talks about this enough.

We talk about the mental load social media puts on teenagers. We rarely talk about what it does to business owners.

You’re helping clients, answering emails, running your business... and somewhere in the back of your mind is that little voice reminding you:

“I need to post something.”

The weight of your social media content follows you around all day.

The frustrating part?

The good ideas never come when you’re sitting down trying to create. They come in the car, in the shower, or halfway through making dinner when the pasta is boiling over.

You think you’ll remember them. You won’t.

The mental load isn’t just about coming up with ideas either. You then have to find the time to write it, decide if it should be a Reel or a carousel, choose the audio... suddenly you feel like a filmmaker searching for the perfect opening track. And then there’s the pressure of staying consistent on top of all of it.

It can get too much. I speak to business owners every week who feel it.

And social media managers like me... we aren’t exempt.

I want to normalise that feeling because I think far more business owners are carrying it than we realise.

If social media content feels heavier than it should right now, a Power Hour might be exactly what you need.

Sometimes one hour of clarity, support and direction is all it takes to make it feel manageable again 💙
