Coming to TheSource Carlisle 👌

redhandedsiren are back with a whole new set-list!

RHS are a 5-piece cover band with infectious, high-energy, bold enough to get anyone up and dancing, headbanging, and singing along to upbeat rock//pop/punk classics. We don't stick to 1 genre... we try and incorporate as many nostalgia-enticing tunes as possible, including songs from:
Paramore, Blondie, AC/DC, ABBA, Fallout Boy, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Muse, The Darkness, Metallica, Sum 41, and many many more!. We also play modern pop songs but with a grunge/rock twist! There aren’t many bands who can say they range the whole way from ABBA to Rage against the machine… but trust me, they make it happen!

Never noticed this before…
Lovely post by Carlisle Cathedral 👍

Have you ever spotted this stone carving on the outside of the Cathedral building?

It depicts PC George Russell of Carlisle, who was killed in the line of duty in February 1965.

While attending an incident at Oxenholme Station, PC Russell, who was unarmed, was killed and another officer seriously injured whilst apprehending a car thief.

PC Russell's funeral was held at the Cathedral and was attended by hundreds of his fellow officers, civic dignitaries, family, friends and members of the public. His actions on that night saw him receive the Queen's Police Medal, posthumously.

The carving was made by Ted Drinkwater, and was the idea of the Cathedral architect of the time, Norman Phillips.

Please look up and remember PC Russell the next time you walk through the grounds.
