What’s new in email marketing this summer? 👀

Mailchimp, MailerLite and Klaviyo have all rolled out some significant changes recently – from AI and automation to pricing and even social media.

Here are a few worth knowing about:

📧 Mailchimp is making automation easier

Mailchimp can now suggest turning a regular email campaign into an automated email directly from the send checklist – without having to rebuild it from scratch.

It's a useful addition for businesses that are still relying heavily on one-off campaigns and haven't yet made the most of email automation.

🤖 It's also bringing AI further into the platform

Alongside integrations with Gemini, ChatGPT and Claude, Mailchimp's Analytics AI allows users to ask questions about their email marketing performance in plain English.

Rather than simply generating more content, this is where AI could become particularly useful: helping businesses understand what their marketing data is actually telling them.

💸 MailerLite has changed its Free plan

The Free plan now allows up to 250 active subscribers and 2,500 emails per month, down from 500 subscribers and 12,000 monthly emails.

The new limits are now in force, so if you're using MailerLite's Free plan, it's worth checking your account.

📱 Klaviyo is moving further into social media

Klaviyo's new Social Marketing tools are designed to help businesses turn social interactions into email, SMS and WhatsApp subscribers.

And there's an important principle behind this one:

Social media is an audience you borrow. Your email list is an audience you own.

The more opportunities you have to turn social engagement into an ongoing customer relationship, the less reliant you are on an algorithm deciding whether your audience gets to hear from you.

We've taken a closer look at all of these updates (what has changed, how they work and which ones are actually worth paying attention to) in our latest blog.

Mailchimp, MailerLite and Klaviyo have all made some interesting changes. Here’s what’s new – and which updates are actually worth paying attention to.

Google has quietly made one of the biggest changes to Search Console in years...

Most people think Google Search Console is only useful for tracking their website.

Not anymore.

Google has started rolling out Platform Properties, allowing you to connect your:

📱 Instagram
🎵 TikTok
▶️ YouTube
𝕏 X
..and see how people are discovering that content through Google Search.

For me, this is bigger than just a new feature.

It's another sign that Google no longer sees "search" as simply finding websites.

When someone searches for an answer, Google wants to show the best content, whether that's a web page, a YouTube video, an Instagram post or something else entirely.

As business owners, that's worth paying attention to.

The businesses that think beyond "SEO = my website" are going to have a real advantage.

I haven't got access to Platform Properties in my client accounts yet, but I'll definitely be putting it through its paces as soon as I do.

Have you seen it appear in your Search Console yet?

I send a weekly email called The DM Fairy Flyer, and it’s where I share the stuff that doesn’t always make it to social.

The next one goes out tomorrow, so this is perfect timing if you’d like to hop on the list.

And just so you know it’s not only me who thinks it’s useful…this is what the lovely Jo Brianti had to say:

Inside you’ll find:

✴️ practical search, email + analytics tips you can actually use
✴️ gentle nudges on what really matters (and what doesn’t)
✴️ honest marketing chat — no hype, no jargon, no pressure

It’s written for small business owners who want clarity, consistency and a bit of calm in their marketing.
