If you've written a children's book and you want it on sale before Christmas, this one's for you, because the clock is ticking.

The sweet spot is having your book ready to sell in November.

That gives you time to get it on your sales page, share it on socials and build a bit of excitement, while still leaving people four or five weeks to buy it and have it delivered in time.

This might be the best degree show catalogue of the year, and the concept is why.

2026's theme for Rave Frame IV at Ravensbourne is Past Lives. Each illustrator was randomly allocated a year between 1951 and 1999, researched it, and responded. The catalogue then runs chronologically from the fifties forwards, which turns 47 individual portfolios into a visual history.

Open the cover, and there is one page of context, then straight into powerful full-bleed
double-page spreads. It is disarming. You do not know where to look. Travel posters,
watercolour comics, crosshatched ink, solid black pages, flat isometric vector - all in one
book.

Printer's-eye view: our first quote had 170gsm inside pages, and we told them to drop to
120gsm. Easier to turn on a 104-page A4 book, and cheaper. Heavier is not automatically
better.

Meet Lost in Town – Chapter 1, a noir comic set in the world of Lost in Town Brewery.

The team chose a custom 240 x 170mm size, a gloss-laminated 250gsm cover and 120gsm uncoated inside pages, so it feels polished on the outside and beautifully readable inside.

We ran a one-off proof first, tweaked bleed and crop marks with the designer, then litho printed 1,000 copies ready for their launch event. If you’re planning a comic or graphic novel, this is a spec worth bookmarking.

Your go-to hardback companion for all things healthy living.

We printed the Ancestral Handbook for Organised: dark blue Wibalin Buckram cloth with silver foil blocking, a partial dust jacket belly band on 170gsm silk, dark blue endpapers, royal blue head and tail bands, and 132 pages thread sewn on a heavy 170gsm uncoated.

Printer's-eye view: they asked why the interior colours looked softer than a previous run, so we explained that uncoated always drinks in ink and offered silk instead, with the same artwork printed on both to prove it. They chose uncoated anyway, for the feel, and went up in weight instead. Knowing exactly what you are trading is the whole point.

Best part? This book is gifted, not sold, and they told us it has been excellent for customer retention.

We get to print a lot of brilliant projects but it’s always particularly lovely to see where they go once they leave the studio.

A year after we printed Young Carers in Space, it was brilliant to see the book being read by Natalie Cassidy on CBeebies.

Huge congratulations to for continuing to get such an important message in front of young readers. We’re very proud to have played a small part in getting the book out there.
