Getting young people into training and employment has been big news lately, that's why we're so pleased to have launched Essex Year of Opportunity's 'Careers Ambassadors'.

Not everyday you get to go on a dog walk with Pete Wicks! But not everyday you launch the Pete Wicks' Dog Walking Trail at Weald Country Park!

Last Thursday we officially launched the Pete Wicks' Dog Walking Trail on behalf of Explore Essex. The event was supported by the amazing team at Basildon's Dogs Trust, helping to provide a park full of pooches!

The event was a big success with broadcasts from ITV Anglia, BBC Look East, BBC Essex, Essex Live, plus coverage on BBC 2, Mail Online, Evening Standard and Yahoo across the world!

If you're looking for a new place to take your four-legged friend, Explore Essex country parks are the perfect place! Of course, if you're looking for a new canine friend, the team in Basildon are on hand to help!

We're really excited to be looking after the PR for Halesworth Ale Day!

The event will take place on Saturday 13 June 2026, from 12-6pm, bringing a full programme of events celebrating brewing, history and hospitality across the town.

Following last year’s inaugural Halesworth Ale Day, the ale-fest returns promising to put the ‘ale’ back into Halesworth!

The day will include a launch of a new Halesworth ale specially brewed by the local Tindall Brewery. The event will also offer brewery talks, beer-making demonstrations, new ale trail, guided heritage walks led by local history experts and a ‘Malt Experience’ exhibition at The Cut Arts Centre, Halesworth, Suffolk.

New this year will be a ‘Dwile Flonking’ contest, where revellers dance around a ‘flonker’ - person with a stick - that flings a dwile – a rag – and gains points for hitting them on their face or body. The contest has not taken place in the town since 1970!
