We’ve been out on the River Colne once again as part of our ongoing commitment to monitoring local water quality in partnership with Essex and Suffolk Rivers Trust.

During our April visit, we also contributed to the Great UK WaterBlitz - a nationwide initiative led by Earthwatch Europe that brings together volunteers to assess the health of freshwater ecosystems across the UK.

As part of this, we carried out additional testing, including pH analysis (not typically included in our routine monitoring). The results revealed that the River Colne is slightly acidic, offering further insight into the condition of this important local waterway.

It’s a small but meaningful way we can contribute to wider environmental understanding and ensure our values are grounded in real, practical action.
