Google has started rolling out its May 2026 core update, marking the second major search algorithm update of the year.

The rollout is expected to take around two weeks and is aimed at improving how useful and relevant content appears in search results across a wide range of websites.

As with previous core updates, rankings and organic traffic may fluctuate significantly while the changes are being implemented. Our technical SEO team are keeping an eye on all client accounts - so no need to worry.

Google says site owners don’t need to take any special action beyond continuing to create genuinely useful, people-focused content, as recovery from ranking drops often depends on future updates rather than quick fixes.
