Conwy Celtic Fayer's to finish.
Right now I am angry, frustrated and very sad.

We have held events on Conwy harbour since 2010 and now, due to the council wanting even more money, they will have end. No Celtic Fayres on Conwy Harbour this year.

I was told by the head of Conwy County Council Licensing Department that I must have a ‘Street Trading Licence’ – something we have never needed before. We are not even on the street!!

This adds a very significant cost to the events and would result in stall rent increasing by over 30%. This is not viable or acceptable as it makes the rent too expensive. Stalls, mostly local, have to work hard making and selling their arts, crafts, food items & gifts – an extra financial burden is unfair. In addition, the Conwy RNLI Lifeboat will no longer benefit from our fundraising.

In addition to the new Street Trading Licence, users of the ‘Event Space’ must pay ground rent (to the council), security, insurance, equipment hire – many additional costs.

So, sadly, I am cancelling all Conwy Harbour Celtic Fayres.

NOTE: This is not the fault of The Harbour Masters Office who have been very helpful over the years and have my sincere gratitude.

Celtic Market Conwy Harbour will be changing. We will be offering gazebo space for 2,3,4 or 5 days. We will provide night security so you can leave your stall set up - nice and easy. Of course, the night time security does add to the rent cost. Security fencing will, I think, be removed from the road side thus 'opening up' the event. We will still be collecting for Conwy Lifeboats - RNLI.
This summer the stalls attending did, for the most part, do very well - the harbour is a 'honey pot' with both tourists and locals visiting. Booking forms will be available soon.

The next Celtic Fayre on Conwy Harbour is the August Bank Holiday.

Closing date is Saturday, 20thAugust. Booking form from [email protected]

Conwy is busy in August and the August Bank Holiday is the busiest time of the year – and we are right on the harbour. There are 1000’s of visitors.
There is no admission charge to the public, however we do collect for the CONWY LIFEBOAT.

The September/October events are historically very good as we get a lot of visitors with a high disposable income.

This year we have 8 events on Conwy Harbour plus the Anglesey County Show – depending upon what you sell, I might still have space available.

I have space for certain foods - CHEESE, JAM & CHUTNEY, CAKES/BREADS & PIES.
And some types of CRAFTS.
Also, hot food catering.

CELTIC FAYRES – BOOKING FORM REVISED …… MARCH 6TH 2020
We now have MARQUEE SPACE AT CONWY AND ANGLESEY.

Celtic Fayre on Conwy Harbour. This year we will be holding eight Celtic Fayres in Conwy (with views of the harbour and castle. Conwy is a ‘World Heritage Site’ and attracts 1000’s & 1000’s visitors) - each event falling in a peak time when we have the chance to make the most money. This is a very busy location attracting 1000’s & 1000’s of visitors.
We do not charge admission – but we do collect donations for the RNLI lifeboats. Visitor numbers vary with the weather – anything between 6,000 and 20,000.
These events are suitable for crafts, gifts and all food & drink producers.

Celtic Fayre @ The Anglesey Show. The Anglesey Show attracted around 60,000 visitors over the 2 days pre covid. The show is now under new management, they are still working on plans. We normally have a marquee in a prime location close to the Floral & Produce Display marquee.
RENT REDUCTION - Rent is reduced for Anglesey as a good will gesture for the 2020 problems. Suitable for all crafts, gifts and food & drink producers.

Just a 'heads up' for those booking Celtic Fayres this year - I am off to Gobowen orthopaedic hospital to have a long awaited (5 years !!) Osteotomy on my knee (do not look at photos - they will make you will feel sick).

Obviously, I will be on crutches for a few weeks, but the operation will not disrupt Celtic Fayres or Conwy Valley Natural Beauty and Health.

Just my luck - having leg surgery when we are expecting a 'weather bomb'
Barry Jackson - I am not far from you - grapes are nice 🤪 (no visitors allowed - TYG). And, no, I do not want a parrot.

Happy New Year. I wish you all the best for 2022.

Please take the time to read the information letter and booking form. IMPORANT as we have made changes due to Covid.

Conwy is a popular destination for both locals and visitors….the harbour is one of the focal points. The Conwy Celtic fayres are very popular with both visitors and exhibitors. Even in bad weather, we get a good foot fall.

This event has adapted because of covid – for now we will operate like an ‘Artisan Market’ OPEN AIR with both ‘shedding units’ (Mini, open fronted marquees – like heavy duty gazebos) and space for your own Gazebos.

I AM LIMITED TO A MAXIMUM OF 16 UNITS FOR MOST DATES. First come, first served.

Normally, we are undercover in a marquee – perhaps we can do this again this year? Who knows? I am trying to be as flexible as possible and, like all of you, I am conscious that covid could cause us problems.

Please note, I do not take bookings for part of an event unless the participant can share the space with another exhibitor (the only restriction is that I agree that the other stall is acceptable as I try to balance the mix of stalls – avoid duplication is possible).

Prices are on the booking form for both Shedding units and space for your own gazebo. NOTE: Your Gazebo must be heavy duty – anything less can be damaged by strong winds (we are near the sea and the mountains!!).

Please contact me if you have a large gazebo or trailer / catering unit as the rent charged is going to be different.

EVENT INFORMATION:
CONWY: We have overnight security (you can leave you stall set up – please bring a cover for the nights). Water is available on site. For Conwy, the event entrance is controlled (no groups of teens, drunks or the local shoplifters). Public admission is free – we collect for charity. Conwy PUBLIC opening times: 10am to 4.30pm.
Camping/Caravan/Accommodation – contact Conwy Tourist Information – 01492 592248.

ANGLESEY – Things have changed. There is a new show manager and I have offered to help if required (for those of you who don’t know – I used to organize massive events). I am not sure how we will operate or what the costs will be – all this is under discussion. I will let you know as soon as we have come up with a plan.

Detailed information will be supplied with the set up information – around 10 days before each event.

SHOULD THE NEED ARISE, WE MAY BE REQUIRED TO FOLLOW COVID RULES/REGULATIONS/GUIDELINES.
FULL PAYMENT is required 3 weeks before each event (less deposit paid). Payment, when due, can be by Bank Transfer or Paypal.

Conwy Harbour Celtic Fayres 2022 Dates
I am sticking with a similar 'game plan' as previous years but with a change to shedding or gazebo units so that we can trade under any covid limitations (hopefully!!).
