King's Head Hotel. This used to stand on the corner of Hertford Street and Smithford Street. An inn occupied the site since the middle ages. In 1802 Lord Nelson stayed there. It was rebuilt in 1879 and became a hotel. Peeping Tom was located in the top window in the central column-like feature. The hotel was completely destroyed by the Luftwaffe on 14th November, 1940. I have added a large scale map from 1912 in the comments.

Just found some photos of our wedding in 1986. We had the reception at the Old Hall in Keresley, and this was how it looked that day.
It was a popular pub and steakhouse back then. And a few years layer it had a Mexican restaurant upstairs, maybe "Caramba!".
Any memories of it?🤔🙂🍺
