A cardboard cutout of Gary Barlow helped us reach 250,000 people this month.

It sounds ridiculous, doesn't it? It wasn’t about a big-budget production or an expensive film crew.

It was about two things… timing and not overthinking it.

We know so many of you spend hours agonising over your social media. You worry that your content needs to be perfectly polished, highly professional, or dare we say it, a bit corporate.

When we took that footage, we didn't aim for a glossy, high-production masterpiece.

10 years in business, and we are busier than ever!

To help keep our directors organised and our operations running like clockwork, we are looking for an experienced Freelance Executive PA to join the Piece of Cake Marketing family.

This is a freelance, remote role starting at around 4–8 hours per week, perfect if you are just starting out on your self-employed journey and looking for a lovely foundational client. While the day-to-day work is remote, we’re looking for someone who can easily pop into Coventry for occasional meet-ups and strategy chats.

What you’ll be doing to support our directors:

Taking control of day-to-day admin and inbox support 📧
Handling invoicing and chasing up those late payments 💼
Organising work queues for our brilliant team of freelancers 🛠️
Helping us map out and build clear internal process guides 📋
And probably lots more!

We work hard for our clients, celebrate every single win, and promise plenty of laughs (and cake) along the way. 🍰

The search journey often starts on Google, but it quickly moves to Instagram or TikTok for a “quick check.”

Potential diners are looking for raw, behind-the-scenes footage to see if that “cosy fire” or “great lighting” actually exists in real life.

If your social media is just a series of static menu shots, you’re missing a huge opportunity to build trust. People aren’t just buying a meal; they’re buying an evening out, and they want to see the “true” experience through the eyes of other customers.

Social media is changing. Here is what we learned at DMWF 2026.

We looked at the latest Metricool data to see what actually works right now.

If you want better results this year, try these three things:

📸Carousels are performing well on Instagram. They are currently underused. Use them to tell a story and add music to help your posts stand out in a crowded feed.

📹Video is the main driver on Facebook. Many brands have stopped posting there, but video engagement is high. Link your Instagram Reels to Facebook to reach a wider audience with zero extra effort.

💃🏼TikTok offers the fastest growth. To see results, you have to pick a specific niche and post on a consistent schedule, potentially daily!

The biggest mistake is trying to do everything at once.

Pick one of these strategies and test it out next week.
