Hobnobbing.

Once upon a time, I’d dread networking, but now I realise it’s a huge part of my business and I genuinely love meeting people.

There are always certain people you’re instantly drawn to and sometimes it’s hard to explain why. It might be their energy, their smile, the way they hold themselves or just how warm and open they are when they start talking to you.

And then there are other people who are perfectly nice, but you know you’re probably not each other’s people.

I think brands work exactly the same way.

When someone lands on your website or Instagram page, they’re making those same little subconscious decisions:
Do I trust this person?
Do I like their style?
Do I connect with their energy?

And that feeling doesn’t just come from a logo. It comes from the colours, photography, tone of voice, messaging and the overall feeling people get when they come into contact with your brand.

The best brands feel a bit like meeting someone at a party and instantly thinking, “Click.”

BTW, this is me and Lorraine from in TW. We defo click 🤍

We’ve launched 🎉

I’m really excited to share a new brand and website today for Nicole at Mind, Body, Breath.

Nicole works with people who feel stuck. Not just on the surface, but stuck in patterns that live in the body through trauma, stress, or life just getting a bit too much. Using a combination of breathwork and trauma-informed therapy, she helps people gently unravel that and move forward again.

From the start, the brief wasn’t about creating something flashy or clichéd. It needed to feel safe, grounded, calm and human, so everything about this identity is intentional.

The symbol represents the connection between mind, body and breath, but also that feeling of coming back to yourself. There’s a softness to it, but also a sense of structure and containment, which felt really important for the kind of work Nicole does.

The colour palette leans into the nervous system – deep greens for stillness and safety, soft neutrals for quiet and space, and a warm, earthy tone to bring in energy and life.
And the photography plays a big role too. Real moments and presence. It’s about helping people feel something when they land on the site, not just read it.

We kept the website itself really simple and clear. No clutter or overwhelm, just a calm space that guides you through what Nicole offers and helps you take the next step when you’re ready.

I flipping love projects like this, Nicole was glorious to work with, so calm and down to earth. Go and take a look at her site and give her a follow too, sfe’s got some really lovely things to share.

People, are we still still manifesting?

or have we all just dropped the vision boarding and positive affirmations, and hoped the universe didn’t notice?

Seriously though, does it actually work for you? It defo does for me.

So, I am sat today to manifesting my next lovely client like it’s a full-time job.

Ommmmm….

I’ve got availability next month and I will be working with someone who’s:
– a couple of years into business and things are picking up
– brand kind of works, but it’s not quite reflecting where they’re at now
– ready to look more established, more consistent and more legit
– gets that branding isn’t making things look nice, it’s strategy, clarity and direction

Bonus points if:
– they trust the process (and don’t ask for the logo to be bigger every five minutes)
– they’re ready to invest properly and actually use what we create

This could be a Brand in a Day or a more bespoke project — just depends what they need.

Anyway… consider this me putting it out to the universe ✨

If it’s you (or you know someone who’s so ready for this), drop me a message.

Brand in a Day for Mums in Business Network ✨

I was super excited to work on this brand in a day with Grainne, we’d worked together before and had such fun, I just knew it was gonna be a good un before we even started.

Grainne has recently taken over the business, and when we chatted, we both pretty quickly agreed the brand just wasn’t a true reflection of the women in the network anymore. It leaned a bit too far into that “mum and baby” space, when actually this group of women are proper business owners doing serious things.

The community itself is brilliant, warm, supportive and a really lovely group of women who back each other, it just needed bringing up to where it’s at now and given a bit of a new lease of life.

So we reworked it around this idea that everyone’s on their own path in business, but when you come together, those paths cross, overlap, and support each other. That sense of movement and connection became the foundation for everything.

The logo evolved into this loose, organic flower shape, intentionally not perfect or rigid, because the women in the network aren’t all the same. They’re all doing different things, at different stages, in different ways. It also leans into growth, and if you look closely, it can be seen as women in a huddle, heads together, sharing and supporting one another.

We softened the typography slightly to make it feel more welcoming and feminine, but still grounded and professional — that balance felt really important.

I bloomin love how this one came together. And working with Grainne was just brilliant, she’s such a force, full of energy, and you can just tell she’s going to do amazing things with this.

This one meant a lot to me as well. I care massively about women building their own businesses, and it felt important that this brand reflects that — strong, confident, and where they actually are now… not some outdated version of it.

Everyone talks about the revenge bod after divorce…

“Mint” I thought to myself four years ago. “Bring. It. On!”

They say you’ll emerge thinner, slinkier, and sexier than ever. I emerged… crisp-adjacent.

For a long time, I kept squeezing myself into my old clothes, standing up straight, holding my breath and promising myself I’d “sort it out later”. It was knackering.

Eventually, I just conceded defeat and bought myself some new clothes that actually fit me.

Oh the relief of not having to breathe in all the time or spend the whole day adjusting myself.

I felt more confident walking into rooms.
More relaxed at networking events.
More like myself again.

Coincidentally, this is exactly how I think about brand identity.

So many brilliant business owners are still holding their ‘brand breath’.

They’re forcing into a look that doesn’t fit anymore.
Trying to make old decisions work for a business that’s grown.
Not because they’ve failed, but because they’ve evolved.

Sometimes the answer isn’t getting smaller, it’s buying bigger trousers.

AI can generate logos, but it’s not your real friend.

Using my client’s briefs 🩲 I’ve been having a play with ChatGPT and asking it to create logo concepts. Same brief. Same information. Very different outcomes.

Look, I know some folks are happy using this kinda stuff, but the reality is they don’t fully capture:
* Your personality
* How you actually operate day-to-day
* The emotional tone you want clients to feel
* The subtleties of how you show up
* The human stuff that lives between the lines of a brief

Because a strong brand identity isn’t just about what you do. It’s about who you are, how you think, how you connect, who your clients are and how you want them to feel, who your competitors are and how you show up.

That’s the bit I get to in my process, that’s how I get you and how I design stuff people genuinely love.

The stuff that doesn’t always fit neatly into a form.
So in this post, I’m sharing:
👉 The AI-generated logos from the same briefs
👉 Alongside the logos I actually designed for these clients

Not to bash AI (I use it loads), but to show why a human brand designer who really gets you makes all the difference.

Because alignment isn’t generated, it’s felt.
And that’s where the magic happens.

You know that feeling when you know you’re good at what you do…

but your brand doesn’t quite back you up?

So you hesitate.

You over-explain.

You maybe even undercharge a bit (or a lot).
Not because you lack confidence
but because your brand hasn’t caught up with where your business actually is.

That’s exactly why I run Brand in a Day.
One focused, collaborative day where we:

– get clear on your brand

– stop the faffing and second-guessing

– create a brand that feels aligned, professional, and genuinely you

No disappearing for weeks.
No endless back and forth.
Just clarity, confidence, and a brand you’re proud to share.

✨ I’ve got limited availability in February ✨

January in the UK isn’t exactly inspiring…

which is why working on an Auzzie brand last month brought a bit of sunshine into my life!

I’m really chuffed to launch this playful brand identity for Emma and Emily, paediatric occupational therapists based in Brisbane. Hopefully it brings a ray of sunshine to your day too ☀️

They’re a mobile paediatric OT practice supporting children and families across Brisbane, and this project was a Brand in a Day and a Website in a Week.

I won’t lie, working across time zones was a bit of a juggle, and we had to rejig things along the way… but we got there in the end.

As part of the process, we looked at their competitors, talked through the brands they liked, and explored visual references together. They were really clear on what they didn’t want – nothing too clinical, nothing too childish – but they still wanted something playful, fun, and aligned with the idea of a path running through the brand.

That’s where the squiggly characters came in. They’re designed to represent different paths and journeys, because no two children’s journeys are ever the same.

This was such a fun project to work on, and I’m really proud that it’s the first brand I’ve launched this year.

Go give em a follow

And if you’re thinking about elevating your business or redesigning your brand this year, give me a shout.
