Yesterday, Newman Business Solutions Ltd was pleased to be part of the Medway Business & Skills Showcase, held at Chatham Historic Dockyard.

Events like these provide an excellent platform for businesses to connect, share ideas and explore solutions that help organisations become more productive, efficient and secure.

Throughout the day, we spoke with businesses from a wide range of sectors about the challenges they face and how the right technology can support their growth. From managed print and document solutions to telecoms, IT support, business mobiles and workplace technology, it's always valuable to understand the needs of local organisations and discuss practical ways to help.

We're proud to support businesses across Kent, Sussex and the South East, and we would like to thank everyone who took the time to visit us and chat with the team.

Field Service Engineer – Copier / Print Equipment
📍 Crowborough / East Sussex area

We’re looking for a motivated Field Service Engineer to join our team supporting customers across the Crowborough and East Sussex region.

This role is open to both experienced engineers and trainee-level applicants looking to build a career in the office equipment / managed print industry.

For experienced engineers:
Knowledge of Sharp devices would be particularly advantageous.

For trainee applicants:
If you’re practical, IT literate, and enjoy problem-solving with a customer-facing element, full support and training will be provided.

Key skills we’re looking for:
🔧 Capable of safely handling and installing equipment (some lifting required)
💻 IT literate and comfortable working with connected devices
🤝 Strong customer-facing skills and a professional approach
🚗 Able to work independently and manage your own workload
👥 Comfortable working as part of both engineering and sales teams

Role responsibilities include:
• Installation and maintenance of copier / print equipment
• Supporting customers on-site across the local area
• Diagnosing and resolving technical issues
• Representing the company professionally
• Working closely with internal engineering and sales colleagues

This is a great opportunity to join a supportive team with opportunities to develop technical skills and progress within the business.

This year we’re celebrating an incredible milestone for Ryan, who has now been with Newman Business Solutions for 17 years.

Ryan’s journey is a brilliant example of growth and dedication. He started with us delivering and installing equipment, progressed into the role of workshop engineer to then field engineer, moved into dictation sales and repair, and for the past 5 years has been a valued member of our sales department as an Area Sales Executive.

His experience, adaptability, and commitment to both our customers and the business are second to none. We’re incredibly proud of everything he’s achieved and grateful to have him as part of the Newman team.
