I’m Susan Rasmussen, the only Colour Me Beautiful consultant in Northamptonshire. Although it’s over 300 years old my styling advice is current and contemporary. Clothes send complex messages about us. We can express our personalities and creativity through them. Making a good first impression is important, but when we wear the right clothes we look more vital and feel more confident throughout th

e day. It’s true, wearing your best colours does make you look healthier and younger. Combine that with your best styles, and it’s you, but always on a good day. Investing in a style or colour consultation is not like those ‘investment’ pieces that live in the back of your wardrobe….it’s fun, pays dividends and gives a boost to your whole lifestyle. The visual world has always been important to me, whether choosing wall colours and furnishing fabrics or writing about sculpture and painting. Add that to experience in retail, the arts, entertainment and health sectors and I’m ideally placed to help everyone find great solutions to their styling needs.

Is this a first? I visited Lee (record producer) in his studio for a colours session. Guitars, amplifiers, consoles, drum kits everywhere, and Pocket the cat helping to select the swatches. A dazzling patch of sunlight and fairy lights in the crepuscular gloom. But I'm confident he's 'Muted and cool'. Lee's going to enjoy blending those subtle colours when he's shopping in Minneapolis.

Thanks to all the ladies in Hunsbury Hill who made me so welcome last night. You were a fantastic audience and I always wish I had more time to give to individuals. For example, the lady who asked about her feet - long feet are elegant, don't forget! We all have parts or proportions we are dissatisfied with, but with good styling we can all make the most of what we've got.

Those were Sandra's selfies! Here are mine (dont want to be left out!) ( soon I'm going to learn how to use my camera...) She has very pretty delicate colouring and a fine bone structure. After just a touch of light make up her cheek bones were positively chiselled.

Sandra popped in on Monday for a make up lesson. I think you will agree it has turned out really well.
