As an image editor, I believe that I have the power to seek and find truth in the images that I create and edit.
I confess - I used to digitally manipulate my body in the images that I either took myself or in images taken for me. I'd make myself look slimmer, change the shape of my face, whiten my teeth, make my skin smoother, give myself slimmer legs, tummy, and arms. At the end of it, it didn't look like me, and it was exhausting trying to keep up with the fake and mythical image that I made myself to be online.
And mostly, it was so damaging to my mental health and the mental health of others. It was a false and damaging version of myself.
As an image editor, believe have the duty to portray truth - and this is mine.
This is my body. All of my lumps, bumps, scars, stretch marks, cellulite, and hair.
Personally, on I love talking about how we can show kindness to our bodies, and I have fully accepted that this is my body - it has helped me through illnesses, it has walked me up mountains, and has swum through seas. And I like it. I like it quite a lot.
Thank you so much to for always capturing me as I am. This was for a shoot she captured back in October 2021! πΌ
