Hello! It's probably time I reintroduced myself... 😜

I'm Hannah - the face behind You Need a Hannah and The School Run Society.

If you're new here, welcome. And if you've been following for a while... thank you for sticking around, even while I've been a little quieter than usual – it’s been an 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 year to say the least! 😂

I help small business owners reclaim their time by taking care of the things that keep their businesses running - from websites and social media to email marketing, Canva design and all the admin in between.

But that's only half the story.

I'm also passionate about helping women create businesses that work around their lives, not the other way round.

Why?

Because I've lived both sides.

I've worked in employment where school holidays felt like a logistical nightmare.

I've worried about annual leave, childcare and trying to be everything to everyone.

Now I run a business that fits around my family, and I genuinely believe more women deserve to know that's possible.

Did you know that You Need a Hannah is a digital Safe Space?

I’m proud to share that You Need a Hannah is part of Safe Space Alliance – an LGBTQI+-led non-profit organisation helping people identify, navigate, and create safe spaces for LGBTQI+ communities worldwide.

A safe space is one that welcomes and supports LGBTQI+ people.
It’s a space where you can show up as yourself, express who you are, and feel respected – without fear.

In a world that can sometimes feel heavy with hatred, fear, and uncertainty, I want to be really clear about this:

✨ There is nothing but love here at You Need a Hannah. ✨

This is a space that does not tolerate violence, bullying, or hate speech – and one that actively values kindness, inclusion, and belonging.

You are welcome here. Always.

Over the last couple of weeks, I’ve been getting back into Meta Ads. It’s something I haven’t touched for quite a few years, and with how quickly things change, it felt like the right time for a proper refresh.

I've attended two training courses - one turned out to be an elaborate sales pitch (urgh) and the other, so far, is great!

One thing that came from it - that's really quite key 😂 - is that not everyone knows what a VA is! There's me inviting people to join a course to become a VA... and there's millions (ok, dozens) of people going "...eh?" 🧐

Cue a mad panic and a re-write of a landing page (take a peek here if you're as nosy as me: www.youneedahannah.com/srsfb) and when this second course finishes I may just dabble in ads again.

One of the trickiest parts of running your own business isn’t the client work, it’s finding time for your own admin.

Sending invoices.
Reconciling your account.
Keeping on top of the bits that don’t feel urgent… until they suddenly are.

It’s so easy to keep putting these tasks off because you’re busy doing the work you’re actually paid for. But leaving them too long can quickly turn into overwhelm.

A couple of gentle habits that really help:

✨ sending invoices on the same day each month (for me, that's tomorrow!)
✨ spending 10–15 minutes each week reconciling your account

Small, regular check-ins make everything feel lighter, and give you a much clearer picture of how your business is really doing.

Have you ever noticed how you can feel two completely opposite things at the same time?

On one hand, you’re busy. There’s always another email to send, another task to tick off, another hour you should be at your computer.

And yet…you feel a bit lonely. You’d really like to connect with other business owners, have a proper conversation (with a human, not a cat), and remember you’re not doing this on your own.

Networking events can bring all of that up at once. The nerves. The guilt. The “is this a good use of my time?” questions. But connection is work. Being seen, heard, and reminded that you’re part of something bigger can be just as valuable as anything on your to-do list.

I'm heading out to a local networking event for female business owners tomorrow. I've got my cards ready. Now all I need to do is summarise what I do in a few minutes... eek! Wish me luck!

A little peek inside The School Run Society 💛

This course isn’t about becoming someone else. It’s about recognising what you already know, what you already do well, and how that could translate into flexible, paid work.
