Now this is a print we just had to share!!

It's a truncated icosahedron for research purposes. Unfortunately we can't disclose more, but I'd love to see some educated guesses what it could be for?

Printed in 12 sections and then assembled without any need for post-production.

Some of our latest 3D prints involve continuous fibre reinforcement, ideal for end-use parts. Not just for prototypes.

Ideal for small batches, the design can be altered per batch and no need for expensive injection mould tooling.

Architectural House Build.

A challenging piece with some very thin walls pushed 3D print technology to the limits - some walls are less than 1mm in cross section!

A piece for a student project that aimed to show the framework and part of the external cladding.

Really happy with the results, as was the client.

We even had a go at reimagining what the interior could look like 👀

FN Motorcycle Crank Assembly.

These are the shots of the assembly thoughout the different stages of production.

Starting from the end, we have the plastic prototype. The first working concept to test fit and check the client was happy with the design.

Then we have the parts straight off the printer. We were hugely impressed by the accuracy and finish of these parts. Straight from a 3D Printer - exciting technology!

Next is the shot of the welding. Since the part was so large, it couldn't actually fit on the print bed! To overcome this, we split the part in two and had it seamlessly welded together.

The following stage was to drill and ream all the holes. Since tight tolerances were required, we decided to machine finish the holes to ensure as much accuracy as possible.

Finally, it was a case of finishing. Filing, sanding and painting to get as smooth a surface as possible.

We're really pleased with the results of this project, let us know what you think in the comments?

1914 FN Motorcycle Crank Assembly.

You may have seen some posts in the past about this project, but we're thrilled to say that it is now 100% finished and complete.

For those who haven't seen, this is a rear brake assembly from a Belgian FN motorcycle produced back in 1914! The client needed this part manufacturing as it needed a slight re-design and any spare parts have long gone out of existence!

This is where 3D print stepped in. In-particular, Metal 3D printing.

These shots are the first initial renders we produced of the model. Took a while to get the CAD exactly as required as it needs to fit into a tight space and fit around a lot of moving components.

Stay tuned for images on the entire making process, from inception to printing to welding. Then of course, the part fitted on the bike itself, in all its glory.

Bespoke Home Products

In this example we have a Turntable Weight, following on from our 3D Printed Version.

Engineered via CNC in a sleek brushed metal finish and coming in at the all-important weight of 405g. This weight would be the crowning jewel on your professional DJ set, or classic record player.

Bespoke Home Products

Working on some designs for bespoke household products. In tihs example we have a tapered candle holder, or Candelabra.

Brushed Stainless Steel and knurling is the best combo. This would definitely be a statement piece in any home.

The moment you've all been waiting for!

We've printed a variety of colours, typeface and point sizes, and had them tested at a local letterpress.

In the first image we show an original metal type block (right), an unfinished 3D printed block (middle) and a sanded 3D printed block (left).

We're really impressed with the results and have definitely proven 3D Print's capabilities within Letterpress.

Swipe to the last pic to see a near-solid fill! 🙌
