Most hypnotherapy websites read like a résumé.

"I'm a certified clinical hypnotherapist..."

"I trained with..."

"I have 14 certificates..."

The person visiting your website doesn't wake up thinking:

"I hope I find someone with another certification."

They wake up thinking:

"Why can't I switch my brain off?"
"Why do I keep sabotaging myself?"
"Why does nothing I've tried actually stick?"
"What's wrong with me?"

They're buying relief, not credentials.

Certificates create credibility. They don't create desire.

The irony is that every hypnotherapist has similar qualifications. So when everyone leads with certificates, nobody stands out. The websites become interchangeable.

A stronger approach is:

Start with the problem they're living every single day.

Show them you understand the battle happening inside their head better than they do.

Then explain why that battle keeps repeating.

Only after they've thought, "That's exactly me," do you introduce yourself as the guide who can help.

Credentials belong further down the page, where they're used to remove doubt, not create interest.

People don't buy the therapist.

They buy the feeling that "This person finally understands what's happening to me."

That's the first sale.

The certificates simply justify the second.

A therapist with 400 local followers and a clear message beats one with 40,000 and a vague one.

Your next ten clients live within 20 miles of your clinic.
They need to understand you, not admire your follower count.

Stop chasing reach. Start chasing clarity.

Your bio is losing you clients.

Open your Facebook business page. Read your bio out loud.

Does a stranger know, in five seconds:
- who you help
- what problem you fix
- what to do next

If not, rewrite it today with this formula:

I help [who] overcome [problem] so they [outcome].

Post yours in the comments. I will give feedback on the first ten.

Why Your Hypnotherapy Ads Aren’t Converting (And It’s Probably Not Your Offer)

You don’t want people to read your ad and scroll past.

You want them to think:

*"That’s exactly what I need."*

…and book a consultation.

But many hypnotherapy ads make the same mistake.

They sell the **session** instead of the **transformation**.

They talk about:

✅ How many sessions are included
✅ The techniques you use
✅ What happens during the appointment
✅ How long each session lasts

But that’s not why someone books.

People don’t wake up thinking:

*"I need a 6-week hypnotherapy programme using this specific method."*

They think:

*"I’m tired of feeling this way. I want my life back."*

**Your clients aren’t buying hypnotherapy.**

They’re buying who they become after hypnotherapy.

Someone doesn’t seek help to stop smoking because they want a process.

They want to become the person who can enjoy time with their family without needing to step outside for a cigarette.

Someone doesn’t seek anxiety support because they want techniques.

They want to walk into a room without their heart racing and their mind telling them to escape.

That’s the transformation they’re paying for.

Your advertising needs to show them that future version of themselves.

Not just explain your method.

**The Second Problem: You’re Using Your Words, Not Theirs**

Most hypnotherapists naturally write using the language they were trained with.

The problem?

Clients don’t think that way.

You might say:

“Reframe limiting beliefs.”

Your client says:

“I want to stop feeling like I’m not good enough.”

You might say:

“Release subconscious blocks.”

Your client says:

“I just want to relax and feel like myself again.”

You might say:

“Manage anxiety symptoms.”

Your client says:

“I want to leave the house without feeling overwhelmed.”

The difference is simple:

Clinical language explains.

Human language connects.

And connection is what creates trust.

**3 Ways To Improve Your Hypnotherapy Ads**

**1. Use your clients’ exact words**

Look back at your consultations, reviews, and conversations.

What phrases do people repeat?

Those are the words your ads should use.

**2. Sell the outcome, not the process**

Don’t lead with:

“6 sessions of hypnotherapy using proven techniques.”

Lead with:

“Imagine waking up and realising you no longer need that old habit controlling your day.”

**3. Make them feel understood before you explain**

Before someone cares about your qualifications, they need to feel:

*"This person understands me."*

The best-performing ads create a moment of recognition.

The reader thinks:

*"That’s exactly how I feel."*

That moment is what leads to bookings.

Not your technique name.

Not the number of sessions.

Not the clinical terminology.

The connection.

Because people don’t buy hypnotherapy.

They buy the version of themselves they believe is possible afterwards.

**Stop selling the process.**

**Start selling the person they want to become.**

Facebook quietly changed the rules.

Likes no longer carry the most weight.

The posts that get pushed furthest now are the ones people send privately to a friend.

Not public shares. Not comments. Private messages. Someone seeing your post and thinking "I need to send this to her."

That one action tells Facebook your content is worth putting in front of more people.

So if you are a hypnotherapist posting on Facebook, stop chasing likes. Start creating posts worth sending to a friend who is struggling.

A simple explainer. A reassuring truth about how hypnotherapy works. Something that makes someone think of a specific person in their life.

That is the post that gets you seen.

Send this to a hypnotherapist who needs to hear it.
