Fully Funded Opportunities in China...

The British Council has released 16 places for students enrolled at universities in Northern Ireland to take part in the Generation UK – China campaign!

This is a fantastic fully funded opportunity is available to support students from universities in Northern Ireland to undertake work placements in China through CRCC Asia’s award-winning China Internship Program. The initiative offers UK students in receipt of a maintenance grant a fully funded opportunity to undertake a work placement in China. Students can intern in one of China’s top tier cities, Beijing, Shanghai or Shenzhen, on a two month placement in a variety of sectors including Business, Finance, Legal, IT, Engineering, Marketing, PR & Advertising and Media & Creative Industries. Funding is available to UK citizens (British passport holders, including Irish passport holders for Northern Irish domiciled) enrolled at a UK university at the time of application, and 2015 graduates from UK universities. All applicants to placements funded through Generation UK will be means-tested and will require academic references. In order to qualify for funding you must be able to provide proof of receipt of a maintenance grant for your university studies.

The British Council are now taking applications for Study placements in their new scholarship programme in Wuhan, China.


Generation UK - China is excited to announce the launch of a new joint-scholarship programme in Wuhan, located in China's Hubei province, starting this September 2016. The programme is open to all graduates and final year budding linguists and adventure seekers looking to boost their CV, spend a semester in the heart of Central China studying Chinese language in one of three universities located in Wuhan:
• Huazhong University of Science and Technology
• Hubei University
• China University of Geosciences


Famed for its hot and dry noodles and ancient history, it's a fantastic place to get to grips with the Chinese language and culture, and explore some of China's renowned landmarks such as the Three Gorges Dam, the Yangtze River etc.

The deadline to submit your application for these joint programmes is 15 April 2016. You can apply for more than one programme and places are limited so apply now!

On behalf of "Do they know it's Christmas." I just want to say a big thanks to everyone who donated their money and time into helping us make a homeless persons Christmas a little bit better. Today we presented Clarendon Homeless shelter for women and young children and they were thankful for your donations. Tonight we're taking to the streets of Derry to donate clothes, hats, gloves and sleeping facilities and also sandwiches and drinks! Every penny donated has made a difference! It's great to help where we can but most of all thanks to Keila Kearney for coming up with the idea! so thanks to everyone to helped collect the donations along the way. On Tuesday night the Adam society held its first even if this year the 12 pubs of Christmas! Over 30 students turned up to this event and a great night was had by all! 60 pound is now donated on behalf of Adam to the charity "Do they know it's Christmas" to help get money for food and clothes for the homeless in the streets of Derry! Thanks very much to all who came and supported us!

Our charity we are supporting "Do they know it's Christmas" kicked off today in the MG Building In the foyer beside the union and the Bank Machine! We were there to collect old clothes, food, Sleeping bags Hats and Scarves and raising money to buy food! We are in the MG FOYER EVERY MONDAY FROM 3 -6 please come along next week!!
