After 192 years serving the people of Diss and surrounds Francis Cupiss Ltd. has now ceased trading.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our customers/friends whom I have had the pleasure of dealing with over my time at the company (some 52 years) for their support.

It was and always will be much appreciated.

My valued colleague Richard and I have seen many changes in technology but our friendly and supportive customers have remained the same.

Finally I am pleased to say a large part of the machinery and type we used will be staying in Norfolk and I wish the people and print companies who have provided new homes for these every success in the future.

Just finished first day of Heritage Open Days week demonstrating and allowing our visitors to print on our historic printing press. There are a few time slots available for the rest of the Heritage week on [email protected]

Before the lock down, Richard and I spent an enjoyable three days printing 50, three colour linocuts in three shades of blue for local artist Neil Lanham. All were printed by hand on our victorian press and tested our letterpress skills to the limit even trying to find space for them to dry gave us much to think about!!. Currently work is being carried out from home only going in for urgent or essential print jobs. Sadly not the way I expected to spend the firms 190th anniversary year. The count down to 2020 has begun and we still have a few of our limited edition 190th anniversary calendars for sale. With a hand printed cover page and the 12 calendar months requiring 57 print passes each calendar is a one off. A4 in size printed letterpress throughout on recycled board supplied with envelopes.

To celebrate 2020 being the 190th anniversary of the business, Richard and John have been dusting down wooden poster type to create a range of unique Letterpress prints. Printed by hand on our original Victorian Press the range includes A2, A3 and A4 prints, the larger sizes being embossed with the company seal to authenticate the process. All posters are printed on 300gsm board. You are welcome to call in to see our complete range which also includes cards and notelets created using our historic type, we are open weekdays from 8am - 5pm or e-mail [email protected]. Watch out for additions to our range of posters throughout 2020 and details of our limited edition special 2020 Calendar to be posted soon. Commissions taken on bespoke posters.
