Reflections on 2023 - The best (and worst) parts for me this year being a business owner..
I think it’s natural as we near this time of year of slowing down to start reflecting back on the year..
The biggest plus for me this year has definitely been having the confidence to approach new clients and being more comfortable in my abilities that I can properly advertise my services. I’ve taken on a new client recently that has been a huge challenge for me (and way out my comfort zone) but it’s been the best learning opportunity and one I’m very grateful for. The flexibility has also enabled me to spend more time with family and enjoy my little one, which I’ve loved!
I wouldn’t say the worst part because it’s definitely not, but the hardest part of owning my own business this year has been juggling it alongside becoming a first time mum (which is hard enough in itself). I love the freedom that social media management has given me in that I can choose when I work and how much work I take on. But having the biggest mamma’s boy in the world means that sometimes I’ve had work while he’s slept on me or I’ve felt awful for leaving him, which I’m sure any mum in business will relate to!
I’ve loved the journey this year has taken me on, it’s been hard at times (it wouldn’t be real life if it wasn’t!) but I’ve definitely learnt a lot in business that I didn’t know before which means I can go into 2024 stronger and ready to take on more challenges.
I’d love to hear your highs & lows of 2023, pop them in the comments!
