Quick one for you 👇

If someone lands on your page right now, could they tell what you actually do in the first three seconds?

No scrolling to read your last five posts trying to piece it together.

This trips up so many tutors and small business owners I speak to. The page exists and it's active, but the basics that actually build trust are missing:

🚩 Your "About" section reads like a list of qualifications instead of telling someone how you can help them
🚩 Your cover photo is decorative instead of building trust
🚩 Your Page name doesn't include what you do, or where

None of this takes hours to fix but it makes the difference between someone scrolling past and someone messaging you.

This month has been a lot 😵💫

School holidays, childcare that feels like it changes daily and about a third of the capacity I'd normally have.

If I'm honest, a few weeks ago that would've sent me spiralling into doing everything badly instead of a few things well.

But for the last two weeks of the summer holidays, I've decided to do it differently:
👉🏻 Decided what actually protects the business (client work, always)
👉🏻 Let the "nice to haves" wait without guilt
👉🏻 Chipped away at the rest in 15-minute pockets instead of waiting for a big block that wasn't coming

Nothing's fallen over, clients are still looked after and I'm actually spending intentional, happy time with Alf whilst he's still off for the summer.

If your capacity's taken a hit this summer too, remind yourself — you're just in a season. 💙

Hi, I’m Kerry 👋

If you’re building a business around your life (not the other way round), you’re in the right place 😄

Rewind to 2022 ... I was 15+ years into teaching, an assistant head, and staring down the same question every night: how do I give this job 100% and be present for my 1-year-old and my wife?

I couldn’t find a version where both were true.

So I left - with no real plan - just a growing certainty that “institutionalised career” and “present parent” couldn’t coexist much longer for me.

That’s when I stumbled into freelance social media support for small businesses and it turns out, that leap was the catalyst that changed everything.

I still think about how much courage 2022-me had to muster to do it and how much of it I only found because my wife backed me completely.

That’s the whole reason Teacher Marketer exists now. I’m a bit obsessed with helping business owners get off the content hamster-wheel. Every post you make time for should actually be doing something for you, not just filling a slot in a calendar.

So that’s what I help with 🥳

I did a very "me" thing this week.

I ditched a tool I'd used for two years, mid-week, on a whim, because a friend was voice-noting me about it...

Turns out it was one of the better decisions I've made for my business this summer 😅

I've swapped ChatGPT for Claude and it's genuinely changed how much I get done in a working day. Not because it "writes better" - because I can actually hand it a real task and it gets on with it, instead of me babysitting every step.

I'm not precious about my tools. If something makes my life easier, I'll use it. If it doesn't, it's gone.

What's the last thing you swapped in your business that actually gave you time back? 👀

𝗔𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗼𝗽𝘆-𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝗲𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗻𝗼 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴? 🙈

Before you spend another minute writing content this August, run your favourite groups through this quick 3-point check:

1. 𝗜𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝗮 𝘄𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗼𝘀? If every post is an ad with 0 comments, Meta’s algorithm isn't even showing those posts in people's feeds.

2. 𝗔𝗿𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗵𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴? Look for posts where members are asking questions or having actual conversations in the comments.

3. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘁𝘀 𝘀𝗮𝘆? Check your Professional Dashboard. If your reach in a group is in the single digits, that room isn't working for you.

Remember, you time is too PRECIOUS to be posting in groups where you're not being seen!

The answer isn't to post in 20 massive groups to grow your business - you just need a few "small rooms" where people are actually listening.

Packing for camping without an electric hook-up has made me realise how little we actually need.

Business is a bit like that.

Fancy graphics aren't essentials but clear messaging, an obvious offer and making it easy for people to contact you are.

Summer is the perfect time to strip things back and get the basics right before September 👐

Everyone talks about getting more reach but hardly anyone talks about what happens after someone clicks your name.

If 100 people visit your page but leave because they can't quickly work out how to work with you, more reach isn't the answer, better foundations are.

I've been completely blown away by the response from those of you who've jumped into Module One of the Facebook Visibility Playbook 🫶🏼
