I have just returned from a fantastic weekend in Glasgow, winning the Battletech Nationals! Now I am back at the keyboard, I have just massively updated the Kickstarter page - but here is an overview.
We have now funded 19 cars and 1 boat, as of writing this are very close to unlocking the 20th and last of the cars - the supercute little Standard Flying 9. Over the last few days we unlocked; Its small, its simple and its elegant. The Standard Flying 9.
You will notice on the main Kickstarter page that we have now updated the Locked stretch goals to reflect all of the remaining vehicles including the Peoples Choice. So, the lineup after the Flying 9 looks like...
Downeaster Fishing Boat
Deep Ones and Hybrids are an integral part of the Mythos world, as is the pull of the Ocean. The Downeast fishing boat (so called for that beautifully graceful shaped hull) has been a staple of the US Eastern Seaboard for a century or more so we chose this deliberately to fit into the Kickstarter. Fishing boats are ubiquitous enough that they will also look great on just about any period games - smugglers? bootleggers? gunrunners? This lovely model will fit the bill nicely.
Note - this will be a fairly large model but the forward section is hollow beneath and the rear hollow decked so its deceptively low on resin!
The Goose.. nuff said!
The Arkham Lady
No water or harbour themed game would be complete without a stylish and swish Cabin Cruiser. The Arkham Lady may belong to a Professor, Rich Dilletante or perhaps a Gangster but whomever she sails for she is a stunning model. Scaled so that you can fit 25mm based models all over her she comes in several parts - this is partly to fit her on a standard sized Resin printer bed but also to save on resin whilst printing her (there will be a full hull option for bigger printers or even FDM). The hull is hollow below, the central cabin lifts off for access and most of the fiddly boaty bits (not official terminology) are separated for printing ease as well. She is the most complex model with regards to this Kickstarter but is remarkably easy to print and assemble - the hollow hull means she doesn't need as much resin as you might think.
We are "testing the water" with boats - they appear to be receiving some very positive feedback which is great, please let us know in the comments if you think boats are a great idea or in future we just stick to cars (etc) and planes?
The Arkham Lady is the final vehicle to be funded in this Kickstarter (we do have a few more surprises though but those are not vehicley) but is not the last vehicle of the project. That honour goes to the Peoples Choice, the Ford Trimotor!
Ford Tri Motor
The Tri Motor is now officially the last vehicle and was selected by yourselves. We will have it sculpted with separate wheel landing gear and the option of pontoons (both flat bottomed waterline and full airborne choices) as well. As soon as we fund the Arkham Lady the Tri Motor will also be fully sculpted and added to both the STL and the "All in" Physical pledges.
Achieving the Arkham Lady (and she is well within reach) means that we will have funded; 20 vehicles (cars, buses, trucks, vans, pickups..), 3 boats and 2 aircraft. Added to that pot is the fishy bus driver Joe and Colonel Flashheart. Added to those will be a few more Cryptkeepers and 1 or 2 other odds n ends.. For both the £30 STL pledge and the £250 All in physical pledges that makes, we believe, this Kickstarter remarkable value for money!
Please join us for the last 7 days and see if we can share share share this Kickstarter everywhere and get us over the line (and we are currently tracking to beyond it) for the Arkham Lady and the Trimotor, and then.. we hope you all will join us later in the year for Mythos Motors - War where we will move the timeline along a decade and bring many 1940's sculpts to the tabletop.
