I’ve always been really curious about Inch Abbey and other ancient sites around Downpatrick, so I decided to let a bit of AI imagination run wild. I took an old artist’s impression of the abbey ruins and reimagined what it might have looked like in its heyday, monks strolling around, the different rooms they might have used, and just the daily life back then. Kind of a medieval ‘day in the life.’

Now that we’ve got the AI tools, which I’ve been playing around with a lot, it’s amazing how we can finally get a bit closer to picturing what it might have been like. I’m no historian btw, just a local history nerd who’s always wondered about this stuff. So here’s a little journey back in time hope you enjoy!
