There’s a lot of text on this page and not much imagery, so I thought I’d do something a bit different and introduce myself properly…
My name is Brandyn and I am the face behind Duthie Digital 👋🏻
I qualified in Digital Marketing back in 2019 through an apprenticeship with my current employer. Since then, I’ve continued to build on it alongside full-time work. I’m not in a dedicated marketing role day to day, but I still get involved where I can, giving input, sharing ideas and helping improve digital decisions when possible.
What has always interested me most isn’t just marketing, it’s people. Consumer psychology, buyer behaviour and why people choose one business over another. The way the digital world has changed those decisions is what first pulled me into website development and digital marketing 🌍
Over the last few years, I’ve helped several local businesses improve their online presence and turn that into real enquiries and sales. One website I built saw a 4,700%+ return after an American influencer featured the business in a video following a visit to a Christmas market 📈
Another project was a direct booking website for a hotel in a popular area of Scotland. It allows guests to book directly rather than relying on third-party platforms and has helped the business reach a wider audience, including significant international traffic 🏨
Away from traditional websites, I enjoy building broader digital solutions too. Things like apps, landing pages and digital experiences that improve how businesses operate and how customers interact.
One of my favourite personal projects was a savings app I built before a Christmas trip to New York, complete with plenty of Home Alone 2 references. If you’d like to see it, I shared it in a previous Facebook post. 🗽🎄
I also like exploring ideas such as ordering food and drinks straight to a table, or building smoother online journeys that reduce friction and improve the customer experience.
It’s still early days, but I’m looking forward to seeing where this goes and helping more local businesses build something that works for them. 💪🏻
