Last night, something very special happened in both my professional and personal life.

I was officially appointed as a Director of the Board of Dundee & Angus Chamber of Commerce.

I joined the Chamber just days after becoming self-employed in 2007. At the time, I knew being part of the local business community would be important for building connections, learning from others and growing my business. I was right.

Almost 20 years later and I’m proud and excited to take on this new role. I’m looking forward to helping the Chamber continue to grow, maximise its potential, and support members as they build and develop their own businesses.

Is it tea time yet?!

Not sure if we can beat last night's fabulous foodie experience at the Hospitality Industry Trust Scotland dinner at the Old Course. Some truly amazing courses created by some of the top eateries in the region, finished off by these petit fours from super-talented students at Dundee and Angus College.

Tuesdays are rarely exciting but this one is! I’m delighted to share that I’ve been commissioned to create a legacy book for a Scottish manufacturing company, marking a significant anniversary in its history.

But this won’t be a polished, corporate brochure. That's not the brief!

We're going to create something authentic, built on real conversations across the business. From the founder’s original vision to the stories of those on the shop floor, it's about capturing the human story behind the company.

I’m used to interviewing people, telling stories and writing copy for press and media so - in many ways - this feels familiar - but a corporate legacy book is something different, and a first for me!

It’ll be a real privilege to help document not just a milestone, but the people that made it possible.

I'm not a huge fan of personal posts on business profiles BUT I'm making an exception tonight and 100% sharing this one.

I'm not just here to say that I'm very proud of my son and delighted that he joined the Revolve Communications team.

I also want to use the post to reiterate that, despite all the doom and gloom we hear, there are so many opportunities out there for young people, like the Graduate Apprenticeship scheme. You've just got to find them and see the lessons within them.

Please watch the video if you can, and share with a young person who's maybe not sure what to do next. It might strike a chord.
