August has been a fantastic month filled with sunshine, fun, friendship and exciting adventures. We made the most of the summer weather with lots of outdoor play, including forest walks, parks, outdoor pools, splash parks, beach visits, sand and water play, running, jumping and climbing, helping to develop physical skills, confidence and coordination. We enjoyed painting shells, mark making in the sand, imaginative and role play, stories and singing, supporting creativity, communication and early literacy skills. Our farm visits were a highlight, where we fed goats and sheep and spotted some lovely lambs, encouraging curiosity and learning about animals and the natural world. Café visits and fairy trails gave us opportunities to explore our local community and develop independence and social skills. We sadly said “au revoir” to our friends Freya and Marty as they moved on to nursery, celebrating their time with us with fun parties full of dancing, games, laughter and lots of party food. We finished our summer adventures with a train trip to Burntisland before returning to our new routine and welcoming our new friends Opal and Rafferty. We are excited for all the fun and learning still to come!

July has been a fantastic month filled with fun, laughter and memorable adventures. We made the most of the beautiful weather with lots of outdoor play, including forest walks, parks, picnics, beach visits, water play, paddling pool fun, sand play and a sand sculpting competition, all of which supported the children’s physical development, creativity and teamwork. Imaginative play, role play, stories, singing, mark making in the sand and our chalk pavement drawing competition encouraged communication, self-expression and early literacy skills. We also enjoyed café visits, fairy trails, local Gala Week celebrations and a magical visit to a fairytale castle with woodland walks, Italian gardens and a giant bug house, inspiring curiosity and a love of exploring the world around us. A special highlight was celebrating our wonderful friend Clara before she moved on to nursery with a fun party full of dancing, games and laughter, helping the children understand change, celebrate friendships and create happy memories together. We are now looking forward to even more exciting adventures during the summer holidays after a well-earned break.

June has been a wonderful month filled with fun, friendship and exciting learning through play. We made the most of the warmer weather by enjoying lots of outdoor adventures, including forest walks, beach visits, parks, picnics and farm parks, where the children loved running, jumping, climbing and exploring. Sand and water play, mark making in the sand and imaginative garden play encouraged creativity, curiosity and early problem-solving skills. Visits to the library, playgroups, museums, the science centre, a scarecrow hunt and soft play gave the children opportunities to build confidence, develop communication skills and strengthen friendships. We also enjoyed stories, singing and music sessions to support language and self-expression. Creative Father’s Day crafts helped develop fine motor skills, while our World Cup celebrations, learning about different countries and teams and playing football encouraged teamwork, inclusion and an awareness of the wider world. As always, the children have learned, explored and grown in confidence through a wide range of fun, meaningful experiences.

May has been another month full of fun, friendship and exciting learning opportunities. We enjoyed spending lots of time outdoors exploring parks, forests and the beach, where running, jumping, climbing, sand and water play helped develop the children’s physical skills, confidence and creativity. Visits to the library, playgroups, museums and soft play provided opportunities to build friendships, communication and social skills through play. We had great fun with imaginative and role play, playdough activities, mark making with chalk and in the sand, and practising our counting skills. Our farm visit allowed us to learn about and care for animals, including goats, sheep and chickens, while feeding ducks and exploring a fairy trail encouraged curiosity and a love of nature. Bus journeys, picnics and café visits helped the children gain confidence in the community and learn about the world around them. We also explored the weather, seasons and the important roles of people who help us in our community, supporting the children’s understanding of the wider world while having lots of fun together.

April has been full of exciting adventures, fun and meaningful learning. We made the most of the outdoors with forest walks, park visits, scavenger hunts, picnics and exploring nature while looking for tadpoles and frogs, helping the children develop curiosity and understanding of the natural world. Trips to the zoo, museums, science centre and even a train ride supported real-life learning and sparked lots of conversations. Social experiences at playgroups, soft play, playing games and visiting the library and time spent with friends helped build confidence, communication and friendships. Creative activities such as arts and crafts, construction, planting bulbs and imaginative role play encouraged creativity and independence, while sand, water and free play supported problem-solving and exploration. We also enjoyed stories, singing and learning about our bodies and dental health, supporting language and wellbeing. A special highlight was opening our Easter box from our pen pals, helping the children feel connected to others and understand the wider world — all while having lots of fun learning through play.
