I don't usually take to social media to moan, but I've just been told I won't be doing £2000 worth of work for a local event because I'm not VAT registered, so I won't be charging them VAT that they can then claim back.
So I'm charging them 20% less in the first place because there's no Vat on my service. Is it me or is that a bit backwards?
I think this is just thier excuse to use a bigger company who can charge less.
I'm just a wee business, I'm a one man band. I know I'm not always the cheapest, but I offer a friendly, personal service and I can't cut costs the way the big companies can.
Remember this when your making your choices.
