Happy Hackathon 🌱

Last week, Team Trees came together to step away from the day-to-day and focus on improving how we work.

Once a month, we carve out time for exactly this - no client work, just a chance to refine processes, share ideas, and continually try to do better. This time, it was all about building out checklists to keep everything running smoothly (simple, but it makes a genuine difference when everyone’s aligned).

It’s part team building, part problem solving, part β€œwhy do we do it like that?” And that curiosity is usually where the best ideas come from!

What a great day.

Last week we spent a day at Manningtree High School and FitzWimarc School for , and honestly? The students blew us away.

The students were highly engaged, and some even asked about apprenticeships. It was great to see that spark of interest, which was exactly the goal - to inspire interest in the digital industry, especially among girls.

This is why we show up for initiatives like this. Digital careers aren't just for a certain type of person – they're for curious minds, problem-solvers, storytellers, and people who want to build things that matter. If today helped even a handful of students see themselves in that picture, we've done our job.

Thank you to the incredible staff at both schools for hosting us, and to (British Interactive Media Association), Systems, First Collective, , and Martin Lagonda Ltd for creating this opportunity to invest in the next generation.

We're buzzing for this Wednesday.

Our team will be at Manningtree High School and FitzWimarc School, spending the day with Year 7-11 students exploring what a career in digital actually looks like – and hopefully showing them there's a path here for everyone, whatever their strengths.

We'll be walking them through real projects, talking about the breadth of roles in our industry (it's not all coding!), and setting them a creative challenge to tackle together.

For us, this is about more than ticking a box. We believe business should create opportunity, not just extract value. And if we can spark curiosity in even one student who didn't think digital was for them? That's a win.
