Two coffees (or tea if that’s more your thing), a chat about your business and No awkward sales pitch.

If you’ve been putting off talking to someone about your marketing because you’re worried about being sold to, let’s put your mind at rest. First of all, we don’t bite. And we’re very against making anyone feel pressured into working with us.

When you sit down with us, in person or over a virtual coffee, we start by listening. Tell us about your business, what you’d love to achieve and anything that’s leaving you feeling stuck. You don’t need a polished brief or any marketing knowledge to get the conversation started.

From there, we can suggest marketing methods that could support those goals and share practical tips you can try. We’re passionate about what we do and love helping business owners see a clearer way forward. Whether you choose to work with us or not, you’ll come away with actionable advice you can put to work straight away.

There’s no obligation to take things further. Sometimes that first conversation is simply about getting a fresh perspective and knowing where to start. And we’re very happy for it to be exactly that.

Fancy a coffee and a little marketing clarity? Send us a message and let’s make some time.

A post gets fewer likes than usual, so it must have failed, right?

Not necessarily; one of the biggest mistakes businesses make when reviewing social media is judging every post by the same metric.

A post designed to reach new people should be measured differently from one created to drive website visits, start conversations or generate enquiries.

We understand how disheartening it can feel when likes are lower than expected, especially when you have invested time or money into creating the content. But likes only tell you that someone reacted in that moment, they don’t tell you the whole story.

A more useful review might ask:
• Did it reach the right audience?
• Was it saved or shared?
• Did people visit your profile or website?
• Did it start meaningful conversations?
• Did it contribute to an enquiry, lead or sale?
• Which message or content theme generated the strongest response?

Not every post needs to sell, but every post should have a purpose, and the way you measure it should connect back to that purpose.
This is why our monthly social media reports don’t simply list numbers. We explain what happened, what it means and how it should influence the content we create next.

So, what are you currently using to decide whether your social media is working?

Tell us in the comments, and save this post for your next monthly review.

Absolutely. We’ll just add “go viral” to the content calendar, right between “increase sales overnight” and “make the logo bigger”. 😂

One thing we wish more businesses understood is that going viral does not always support their business goals. Unless your goal is global reach, a million views from the wrong audience can be far less valuable than 500 views from potential customers.

We’ve had posts reach more than one million people. It sounds fantastic until you look more closely and discover that it brought in thousands of followers from a country the business did not even serve.

Big number? Yes. Commercial value? Very little.

There is no secret viral button hiding in Meta Business Suite. What we can do is understand your audience, create content with a clear purpose and keep testing what generates the right response from the right people. Because viral is not always valuable.

Would you rather have one million views or ten genuine enquiries from people ready to buy?

Instagram has been busy making changes again 👀

Swipe through for the Instagram updates you need to know for August 2026.

The important thing is not to change your entire strategy every time Instagram introduces a new feature. Focus on the updates that help you reach the right audience, communicate more clearly and understand what your content is achieving.

Save this carousel so you can refer back to it and share it with the person responsible for your social media.

If keeping up with Instagram and managing your content is becoming another job on your list, DM us the word “SOCIAL”. We can help with consultation, strategy or complete social media management that takes it off your plate.

If you can’t answer these 3 questions, your marketing has no clear direction...

Busy marketing can create the illusion of progress.

You can be posting regularly, sending emails, updating your website and running adverts, yet still have no idea whether any of it is helping your business grow.

We understand how frustrating it is to invest time and money into marketing without knowing what it is achieving. Marketing should give your business direction and create opportunities, not become another job you have to manage.

Before committing to your next marketing activity, ask:

What business goal does this support?
Who are we trying to reach?
How will we know whether it worked?

If you cannot answer all three, it may be time to pause and create a clearer strategy. Otherwise, you risk spending more time and money on activity that looks busy but delivers very little.

That is where we can help. You can hire Counting Stars Digital for a consultation to help you find clarity, a focused marketing strategy that gives you a clear plan or complete marketing management where we take control of the work and get it off your plate.

The result is marketing with clear direction, consistent delivery and transparent reporting, so you know what is happening and how it is contributing to your wider business goals.

If your marketing feels busy but you are unsure whether it is working, DM us the word “CLARITY”. We’ll talk through where you are now, what you want to achieve and the right level of support to help you move forward.

A new brand, anew website and a very personal process.

This project began with the foundations: a new logo, colour palette and visual direction that reflected our client’s style and the quality of her work.

From there, Belle designed and built a new website that would showcase that work clearly and give potential clients the confidence to take the next step.

Having been recommended by one of our existing clients, she trusted us with an important part of her business. We worked closely together throughout, with regular check-in calls and live video sessions where we reviewed changes and refined each page live until it felt right.

The result was more than a new website. It was a brand and online presence that truly felt like hers and her final review meant so much to us:

“This was the most incredible service. Completely personal. I will admit that I was probably a challenge, yet all of my needs were met with care, enthusiasm and professionalism.”

A successful website project isn’t about imposing our ideas. It’s about listening, collaborating and creating something that reflects the business behind it.

If your current website no longer represents the quality of your work, send us a message and let’s talk about what we could create together.

Does your logo still reflect your business... or does it reflect where you were 10 years ago? 🤔

This is something so many business owners struggle with, but so much changes after a decade in business.

We originally designed the logo for South East Painting & Decorating right back at the beginning of both of our journeys. At the time, it was exactly what Oli needed. It was bold, eye-catching and helped get his business noticed.

Fast forward 10 years and his business has completely evolved.

Today, South east painting & Decorating is known for delivering exceptional decorating work in high-end homes. His reputation has grown, the type of projects he takes on has changed, and he wanted his branding to reflect that.

Like a lot of business owners, he was nervous about changing it. He'd spoken to different people and received plenty of mixed opinions. Some thought he should leave it alone, others thought it was time for a refresh.

But let's be real, businesses aren't supposed to stay the same forever. You grow, your customers change, your services evolve and your confidence grows. It's only natural that your branding sometimes needs to catch up.

A rebrand doesn't mean you've made a mistake. It doesn't erase everything you've built, if it's done thoughtfully, it simply tells the next chapter of your story.

We feel this new identity accurately reflects where Oli and his business are today. It's clean, premium and has the same attention to detail that he's become known for over the last decade.

We're incredibly proud to have been part of his journey from day one, and even prouder that he trusted us to help shape the next chapter. Wishing Oli another fantastic decade of success!

Swipe to see the original logo and let us know whether you think this is a glow up, or you preferred the original logo?

Social media is no longer just where people scroll; it’s where they search.

If your content isn’t optimised for discovery, it’s not being seen by the people who actually need it.

That’s why we’ve put together 4 simple ways to optimise your content for search and get your posts working harder for you.

Small tweaks = big difference!

Save this so you can come back to it before your next post, and share it with someone who’s still writing captions like it’s 2019 👀

That “quick post” you thought would take 5 minutes…

Rewritten 6 times
Overthought completely
Posted… then immediately spotted a typo 😅

We’ve all been there.

You don’t need perfect.
You just need to show up.

Social media engagement hasn’t disappeared in 2026.
It’s just measuring different things.

A lot of business owners are noticing it right now… likes are down, posts feel quieter, and reach can seem unpredictable.

But the truth is the algorithm hasn’t broken. It’s evolved. Platforms are now paying far more attention to signals like:

• Saves
• Shares
• Watch time
• Comments
• Replays

These actions tell the platform your content was genuinely useful or interesting, not just quickly liked while scrolling.

So if your likes have dipped recently, it doesn’t necessarily mean your content is worse. It may simply mean the indicators of success have shifted.

That’s exactly why we created this carousel. Inside we’re breaking down 8 social media trends for 2026 that every business owner and creator should understand, including how the algorithm is changing and what you can do to adapt.

The good news? None of these changes are bad for small businesses. In fact, they favour content that is helpful, thoughtful and worth saving rather than flashy or click-bait.

Save this post so you can come back to it later, and share it with a business friend who’s been wondering why their engagement looks different this year.
