What a day.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us at What’s Next Live: Music and the Machines at Somerset House last week.

From AI and attention… to fandoms, music, culture and content ecosystems, the conversations throughout the afternoon reinforced just how much brand building is changing and how the brands that win tomorrow will be the ones people actively seek out, talk about and choose to spend time with.

We were incredibly lucky to hear from such an amazing line-up of speakers, but special thanks have to go to Tim Ellis, Jordan Stephens and Nathan Ansell, who were all remarkable. Insightful, funny, honest and hugely generous with their experiences and perspectives.

Thank you to all of our speakers Daniel Thomas, Hamish McPharlin, Flora Kessler, Tracey Follows, Julie Chadwick and Chris McKibbin and to our clients and partners for making the conversations so open, energetic and thought-provoking.

And of course to the dentsu team Martin Joyce, Pauline Jyh-Peng Hsu, Tom Walden and Ammira Syed and Event Concept for bringing it all together.

More thoughts, content and our Word of Mouth or Word of Machine thinking coming soon.

The June issue of Food is your toolkit for relaxed summer eating: creative skewer combinations, ice cream at every opportunity (does an ice cream scone sandwich pique your interest?), barbecued flatbreads with all the trimmings, and a celebration of the nation’s favourite cutlery-free meal – kebabs. This month, there are no limits, whether you’re ready for something charred over coals or scooped straight from the tub

May at Food magazine is a full-on buffet of inspiration, with a loving nod to the 80s: the good, the tinned, and the cheese and pineapple hedgehog-ed. Paying homage to the decade’s greatest hits, we’ve got all the recipes and inspiration you need for an OTT buffet, a deep dive into the prawn cocktail’s revival - plus, if you want even more decadence, take your pick from our dessert trolley piled high with pud inspiration.

April at Waitrose Food magazine is all about flavour – from the time-tested favourites that prop up our everyday cooking to boundary-pushing combinations that dial it up a notch. We present the taste profiles we think will be everywhere in 2026 – swavoury, fricy, swoasty and picklish – complete with a quiz to see which camp you land in. There are also big-impact recipes for your Easter lunch – and it wouldn’t be a flavour issue without the king of flavour himself: Ottolenghi and his team have rustled up exclusive recipes for a joyful spring feast.

Dive into Food’s February/March magazine, a bumper issue dedicated to our favourite love language: food. With inspiration for both Valentine’s and Mother’s Day, pick up a copy and plan a feast for the people you love – be it a rhubarb and custard upside-down cake or upgraded bacon and toast. Elsewhere, put your feet up and take comfort in stories of romantic meals-turned-disasters – and discover why dumpy, beige banana bread is actually the ultimate token of love. Finally, get flipping with our expert guide to pancakes (to enjoy anytime), with this year’s must-try topping: cherry compote and pistachio cream.

Ring in 2026 in delicious fashion with January’s issue of Food magazine. We’re inviting you to join our Plant Feast Challenge and fill your plate with 30 plants a week – a New Year’s resolution that’s all about abundance rather than restriction. Helping you hit your plant goals is our epic lasagne (30 plants in every slice!), alongside plenty of plant-packed comfort food recipes and ideas to step up your jacket potato game. Elsewhere, jump on the Japanese mayo bandwagon, learn about the lotus’s place in Chinese food tradition, and, thanks to some of Scotland’s finest foodies, be inspired by brilliant ways to celebrate Burns Night – haggis nachos and all.
