I hate AI generated graphics. There I said it.

But do you know what else I hate? The snobbery that comes along with the hatred. I'm savvy enough to know that not everyone has the knowledge, time or skillset to design the perfect graphic.

We're all just muddling through, doing the best we can with what we have.

Life gets busy. We all fall off the social media wagon from time to time (yes, me included). The chances are your audience hasn't even noticed. Sorry. 🤷‍♀️

It's Pride Month, and I am ALL for shouting loud about equality in June... and every other month of the year too.

But here's my little reminder: Pride isn't a marketing exercise.

Changing your logo to a rainbow is easy. Creating a workplace where people feel safe, respected, valued and able to be themselves every day is what really matters.

If you're posting about Pride this month, brilliant. But also ask yourself:

✨ How are you supporting your LGBTQ+ team members?
✨ Are your policies inclusive?
✨ Do people feel comfortable being themselves at work?
✨ Are you creating an environment where everyone belongs?

Hello any newbies, I thought I'd do a wee intro 👋

I'm Yvonne and I've been self employed for nearly 7 years.

I left the 9-5 because I was sick of missing every school assembly and my time not being valued. A role that was genuinely flexible and paid well enough to keep me in champagne didn't exist so I created one 💅.

I (mostly) work with female owned businesses, start ups and third sector organisations.

I can support with ongoing social media support, strategy, content days, training, and give a gentle kick up the 🍑 when needed.

Instagram is my favourite platform.

CapCut is my favourite editing tool.

I schedule in Meta Business Suite (😭 IYKYK).

I drink a glass of champagne at any opportunity to pass it off as 'branding'. I've even have a champagne tattoo. Thanks .ink_ 🍾

Gang I need a favour. I'm sorting out my packages and would LOVE to know where you struggle the most with social media.

Some things you might hate are:

Editing reels, getting the right picture, captions, confidence showing up, the to post, Canva, Capcut, scheduling, monthly business posts, AI and probably a million more things I can't think of.

I'm a feminist but...

I find the 'boss babes' tactics stressful.

Maybe it's my demographic and if that's the case I'll hold my hands up but most of my DMs are from women promising me 10k months, telling me I need to up my prices by 10k to be valued and reminding me a retreat in Bali is exactly what I need for business clarity.

Make no mistake I'd love to go to Bali - for silence and a pina colada, plus... bold of you to assume what I already earn BUT women are already underpaid, in competition with each other and this type of marketing isn't helping.

Women deserve more than recycled Mel Robbins quotes. We deserve space to be taken seriously and actual support, not spiritualised sales tactics and toxic positivity.

Sometimes we just want to do good work, get paid fairly, and not feel like a failure for liking quiet success.

Feminism is about choice. And I choose peace.
