Back with your favourite series!

Now, you might think that Waitrose’s logo is too simple. But Waitrose sits within the John Lewis Partnership group. Of course there are more than one solution to logo design. But Waitrose’s current logo AND the rest of their simple but distinctive brand identity authenticates their employee-ownership model, unifying the partnership into a sophisticated, flexible visual system that signals integrity, heritage, and trust. It was a strategic choice.

You might think choosing a font is simply a matter of taste.

But once you start asking why one font feels right and another doesn’t, you realise how many decisions sit beneath the surface. Price point, audience, personality, context. All of these are communicated before a single word is read.

Over the years (8+) we have developed our unique brand strategy workbook and we complete it over two weeks with our clients to answer questions like these and build their brand foundation. This way they can focus on their business instead of constantly questioning their brand. That’s how a brand actually supports business growth and expansion. A strong clear brand supports it. A weak unfinished brand hinders it.

You might think typography is just a bit of aesthetics.

But read the two sentences on Slide 2 and tell me there is no difference in the perceived tone of that message.

Our brain links visual traits (thin, thick, rounded, sharp) to familiar experiences, so a bold, blocky font might subconsciously signal power, while a sleek sans-serif suggests efficiency.
