The Women on Top Summit is back 🔥

Just look at this lineup! But first, if you’ve been before, you know it’s not just the speakers. It’s the room. It’s 300 women who get it, those women who go on to become a client, a collaborator, a friend

Someone asked me recently if I’ve ever burnt out.

To be fair the first quarter of the year was madly busy.

But one thing I always do, is time block my pals.

Because those trips, that time away, is always a tonic.

Sometimes I’ll add a gin 😅

Research shows that the single best predictor of mental and physical health, even longevity, is the number and quality of close friends you have.

So this is my reminder to you. Get your diary, grab your girlfriends, get it booked.

Because Portugal is optional, pals are non-negotiable ❤️

Four years ago I did a brave thing and opened a shop on George St.

It was a scary decision, but remains one of the best. Opening at a time when people were craving connection more than ever, opening just after lockdown.

It wasn’t a small shop either, 7000 sq ft 😳, but we soon filled it with amazing women led brands, a cafe, we had dj’s and kids activities, book clubs, and a few parties 🪩

I learned a LOT, particularly how astronomical rates are in Edinburgh 😵‍💫 but my overriding memory is of joy, colour, and women coming together to learn and laugh, grow their business and confidence.

I said I’d never do it again, that I’d walked away from bricks and mortar for good, but I think it’s in my dna, so never say never.

Laughter at an event about money and death, not what you’d expect perhaps?

But that’s exactly why Money Matters felt special ❤️

Yes, we talked about wills, pensions, Power of Attorney and protecting your future, but we also hugged, laughed and shared honestly.

And at one point I ended up discussing my dad’s ashes living in a protein shaker…so maybe a bit too much honesty 😳

Many of us are building businesses, homes and futures, yet there’s still so much we avoid or put to the bottom of the list when it comes to money and protecting ourselves.

So I’m really excited that the podcast we recorded at the event is now LIVE so you can listen too! 🥳

From sweaty palms and a shaky airplane safety demo to standing on a stage in front of hundreds - it’s been some journey! ✈️

I’ve just been asked to host again and am absolutely cock-a-hoop! 🥳

But the journey to hosting large events with confidence has taken time.

10 years of walking into rooms, of trying new things, of getting up there time & again, with shaking hands and wobbly knees.

Never ever back then, dressed in my diamonds, did I think one day I’d stand on stage in front of hundreds of people and would love it.

But it’s now my happy place. The place I feel most alive - listening to women (and men!) - helping them share their stories ❤️

So this is just a reminder to anyone who needs it - the hard and scary things do get easier - there will be pain, but it will subside and growth will come, so keep going.

Want to end with humour and all I can think about is the mile high club! The answer to your question is no, not a member….yet 😉

This time last week was our Edinburgh Dishoom Breakfast and it was a hit! Buzzing with good chats, hot chai, indulgent naans and some great stories, it was the perfect way to start the day 🫖

Some highlights from the morning included welcomes at the bar, exchanging fun facts, a speech from Kylie and of course, the incredible food!

Well this is *really* exciting… we’re heading to Cromlix Hotel this summer to celebrate the opening of their beautiful new restaurant, with none other than Kim Murray!

Some of you may know Kim as Andy Murray’s wife…

But what we love is everything she’s built at Cromlix.

The vision, the renovation, and what it really looks like running a luxury hotel day to day.

We’ll be spending the afternoon enjoying a Champagne afternoon tea with scones and sweet treats made with ingredients from the Cromlix Kitchen garden, followed by a relaxed Q&A with Kim.🥂

A room full of women (and a few men!) getting real about money. The goal was simple: to bring clarity, confidence and real, practical understanding to the financial decisions that shape our lives
