Can tourism be part of the solution for rural Europe?

In the past decade, 8 million people left rural EU regions. At the same time, cities like Venice and Barcelona are overwhelmed by mass tourism. But what if we could get it right? What if community-led tourism in rural areas became the way forward?

That question is what led to the ‘Marketers for Regenerative Tourism’ by our friends at the Conscious Marketing Movement.

The first edition was co-funded by the European Union and tested these ideas in rural Tuscany. This autumn 2026, the programme returns for a second edition. This time, it's fully online, making it easier for tourism and marketing professionals from around the world to join.

We’re excited to share this programme because we deeply believe in regenerative approaches. Through running our own ZG Playground events, we’ve seen firsthand the power of bringing people together to question familiar ways of working, learn from one another and imagine better possibilities. We believe this programme will offer an incredible space to do exactly that.

Here's what to expect:
🌍 Fully online | 5 October – 23 November 2026
🛠️ Weekly live sessions combined with self-paced learning
📘 Develop a Conscious Marketing campaign for your own project

If you know someone working with tourism, marketing, or rural projects who might find this useful, feel free to pass it on.

Sometimes a small action opens a bigger conversation 😉

In the season finale of the Regenerative edge, Moh Al-Haifi completes his conversation with Johannes Hochholzer from Unity Effect, exploring why Source Principles can bring up resistance, and what that resistance might reveal.

🦓 Together, they discuss organisational history, the stories teams keep telling, the grief of closing what we started, and the responsibility that comes with bringing an idea to life. 🌱

As the final episode of Season 1, Setting the Table, this conversation asks what becomes possible when we meet the past with more honesty, care, and responsibility.

Listen to the full first season now on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, YouTube, and wherever you get your podcasts, featuring Moh Al-Haifi in conversation with Jannik Kaiser and Johannes Hochholzer from Unity Effect, and Renee Mitchell and Tania Lo from Tandem.

When we started running ZG Playground events in 2024, we explored how marketing could create value without becoming extractive. Since then, AI has accelerated, inequality has deepened and the pressure on organisations to become bigger and faster has intensified.

The question has grown beyond marketing How can entire organisations grow without losing what made them worth building? 🦓

On 27 August, Eric Ries, author of The Lean Startup and Incorruptible, will join Dr Rana Dajani, scientist, social entrepreneur and founder of We Love Reading, and author of Reimagining Systems Change meet for a timely conversation about the future of growth.

🌱 Facilitated by our co-founder and Regenerative Growth Director, Moh Al-Haifi, we’ll explore how organisations can build a Story people understand and trust, turn genuine value into Traction, and protect their Integrity under increasing pressure.
Join us online for this free, participatory Playground on 27 August, from 18:00–19:30 BST / 10:00–11:30 PT.

How Sources can lead the change from the inside out. 🦓🌱 In episode 8 of the Regenerative edge, Moh Al-Haifi continues his conversation with Johannes Hochholzer from Unity Effect, exploring what happens when Source Principles meet the complexity of teams, departments, projects, and nested systems.

If episode 7 asked what brings an idea to life, this episode asks what happens once that idea begins to grow.

Together, Moh and Johannes explore global and specific sources, power dynamics, trust, letting go, and the inner condition of the person sourcing the work.

You can listen to episode 8 and the back catalogue now on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, YouTube, and wherever you get your podcasts.

Our upcoming ZG Playground, Regenerative Growth in the Age of AI, will be facilitated our very own Moh Al-Haifi. 🦓

If you’ve not met Moh yet, he works with organisations doing meaningful, complex work whose story, systems and decisions haven’t fully caught up with who they’re becoming.
Through our Regenerative Growth Architecture, he helps leaders reconnect three areas that often drift apart under pressure: Story. Traction.Integrity.

For this ZG Playground, Moh will guide a conversation between Eric Ries and Dajani, creating space to explore how organisations can build meaningful traction without compromising their integrity as AI accelerates the pressure to grow.

Join this free, open ZG Playground on the 27th August, from 18:00–19:30 BST / 10:00–11:30 PT.

This week, pick one operational KPI and tie it directly to a revenue goal. Then use that signal to stop one thing that isn’t creating movement.🦓🌱

This kind of clarity came up in conversation our second session of Zebra Growth × Think Bambu’s Climate Tech Roundtable.

If there’s something you’ve been sitting with, or a tension you’d want a space like this to hold, you’re always welcome to book a conversation and share what’s on your mind.

We’re pleased to welcome Rana Dajani as a guest for our upcoming ZG Playground, Regenerative Growth in the Age of AI. 🦓

Rana is a molecular biology professor, social entrepreneur and founder of We Love Reading, a community-led movement now active in more than 71 countries. Her newest book, Reimagining Systems Change: A Bottom-Up Approach, co-written with Tate Gallagher, offers a five-pillar framework for building mission-driven institutions through leadership, people, funding, impact measurement and growth—with We Love Reading as its working case study.

Rana’s work challenges conventional assumptions about scale and measurement. Rather than allowing funders or institutions to impose standardised definitions of success, she argues that communities should be trusted to define meaningful impact on their own terms.

This perspective sits at the heart of our ZG Playground: as AI makes it easier to scale systems and standardise decisions, how can organisations ensure growth remains rooted in the people and communities it is intended to serve?

Rana will join Eric Ries , with the conversation facilitated by our very own Moh Al-Haifi.

Join this free ZG Playground on 27 August, from 18:00–19:30 BST / 10:00–11:30 PT.

The risk that brings an idea to life. 🦓🌱 In episode 7 of the Regenerative edge, Moh Al-Haifi is joined by Johannes Hochholzer from Unity Effect to explore Source Principles, and what they can teach us about how ideas, projects, and organisations come into being. The conversation begins with a simple but powerful observation: An idea becomes real when someone takes a risk to bring it to life.

Together, Moh and Johannes explore what it means to become the source of a creative field, how vision is often uncovered rather than invented, and why the person who first carries an idea holds a particular kind of responsibility for its direction, boundaries, and life.

This is episode 7 of Season 1, Setting the Table, stewarded by Zebra Growth and created in collaboration with foundational partners Unity Effect and Tandem and you can subscribe now on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, YouTube, and wherever you get your podcasts.

We’re pleased to welcome Eric Ries as a guest for our upcoming Playground, Regenerative Growth in the Age of AI. 🦓

Eric is an entrepreneur and the author of The Lean Startup, which helped a generation of founders build, test and learn more quickly.

His latest book, Incorruptible, asks what happens once fast-building succeeds and organisations face growing pressure to prioritise scale and financial returns over their original missions. Eric describes this structural pull as “financial gravity.”

As AI gives organisations the ability to build and scale faster than ever, we’ll explore how they can embrace new opportunities without losing what made them worth building.

🌱 Eric will be joined by Rana Dajani , for Regenerative Growth in the Age of AI a ZG Playground facilitated by our Regenerative Growth Director, Moh Al-Haifi.
Join us for free 27th of August, from 18:00–19:30 BST / 10:00–11:30 PT.

If the board is tracking ARR and the team is celebrating likes, something isn’t connecting.
The board and the team are operating on different stories about what success looks like. That gap doesn't stay internal.

🦓 This came up in our second session of Zebra Growth × Think Bambu’s Climate Tech Roundtable, in the context of how teams link day-to-day work to real movement. 🌱

We haven’t set a date for the next one yet.

If there’s something you’ve been sitting with, or a tension you’d want a space like this to hold, you’re always welcome to book a conversation and share what’s on your mind.
