Five years of Cat at Fifth House.

Cat joined us in 2021, right in the middle of the pandemic.

I interviewed her remotely, hired her remotely and, for a while, worked together without ever really having the normal experience of being in the same room.

It feels slightly surreal looking back now, especially when you think about how much has changed since then.

Over the last five years, Cat has become such an important part of Fifth House. She brings creativity, instinct and a strong point of view to the work. Although, for the record, she would absolutely prefer that I didn’t describe her as opinionated.

So I won’t.

She also brings humour, energy and plenty of personality to the team, and in a small business that matters just as much as the work itself.

The people around you shape the culture of a business, and Cat has played a big part in shaping ours.

I’m really proud that someone who joined us in such unusual circumstances has gone on to be part of so much of the Fifth House story.

Six years of Fifth House.

Today marks six years since we started Fifth House.

What began as a one-person venture has grown into a team of five, working with clients across the UK and internationally.

Over the past six years we’ve navigated a global pandemic, moved offices, built an incredible team, expanded into the Middle East, worked on some fantastic projects and had the privilege of partnering with clients who continue to put their trust in us.

We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who has been part of the journey. Our team, clients, suppliers, mentors, friends and family have all played a role in getting us to this point.

We were out capturing new photography content for Balatoni Financial Planning with Kerry and Conrad — and Edinburgh absolutely turned it on. Blue skies, incredible light and a brilliant setting for the shoot at Edinburgh Park.

A big thanks to Chris for the photography work too. We spent the day capturing a mix of professional and natural imagery that will help bring more personality and authenticity to the Balatoni brand across their website, social media and marketing.

In financial services especially, people buy into people. Strong photography makes a huge difference in helping clients feel connected before they’ve even had a first conversation.

Looking forward to sharing more from this project soon.

That’s a wrap on a full on, inspiring few days at in Leeds. As brand and marketing specialists, it was great to be right in the thick of the conversations shaping the world of real estate.

We spent time discussing the current state of the economy. Specifically, how ongoing geopolitical tension in the Middle East is heavily impacting wider market confidence.

We kept returning to a big question: how do we get agents, landlords, and fund managers to be more brave with branding and marketing? In a crowded real estate market, playing it safe is the biggest risk. Standing out requires courage

We had a fantastic, open conversation with the team at Rapleys. They shared pain points around investment opportunity marketing. Now, we’re looking at how we can collaborate to strip away the friction, streamline their processes, and build a marketing product that delivers.

We’re delighted to be supporting Queensbury Cricket Club under-15s team this season.

Set against a beautiful Yorkshire countryside backdrop, the club is a brilliant reminder of what makes grassroots sport so special, bringing people together, creating opportunities for young players and giving local communities something to get behind.

With Yorkshire being home turf for Jonny, this one feels especially close to home.

A brand is simply a promise made and kept.

Yesterday I was on location with Steven from Guthrie Wealth Consultancy Ltd capturing new photography and content alongside Garry from Bear Media.

Following a presentation I recently gave to St. James’s Place around branding and perception for financial advisers, Steven got in touch to work with us on developing his own brand presence.

One of the key points from my presentation was that advisers are competing with the perception of professionalism, clients Google you before they speak with you. They look at your LinkedIn, your website and decide whether you feel credible, trustworthy and successful enough to manage their money.

That’s why shoots like this matter.

Our role isn’t just to “take photos”. It’s to help shape perception and create consistency between the experience somebody has online and the experience they have when they eventually sit across the table from you.

We spent the day between Fifth House HQ and Newbattle Abbey creating imagery that feels professional, approachable and authentic to Steven and his business.

Also accompanying the shoot throughout the day was Daisy, who took her role on the creative team very seriously 🐾

We’ve just shared a recent project for Firth Home Farm.

It’s a place that had already started to evolve, from a single Airbnb in the main house into something broader, off-grid stays, deli products, and a bigger vision behind it.

We worked closely with the owners to define the brand strategy and bring that thinking together into a clear, cohesive story.

Something that reflects what the place already is, but also supports where it’s going.

A really enjoyable project to be part of.
