We’ve always believed that good work starts with not settling.

Our new brand refresh is a recommitment to that principle. Clearer thinking, sharper expression, and a more intentional way of presenting the work we’ve always done.

Founded over 20 years ago, our work has always sat at the intersection of brands, spaces and visitor experiences across culture, heritage and tourism.

From early planning and funding support through to design and delivery, our ambition hasn’t changed.

Still based in Edinburgh with the same principles, but clearer expression.

A warm and welcoming whisky snug we were proud to design...

Rich, tactile materials sit alongside the signature Glencadam blue, creating an intimate space that feels both relaxed and refined, the perfect spot to enjoy a dram.

As part of the tour, the whisky tasting room is where you can relax, learn about, and sample Glencadam Distillery whisky, taking your time to enjoy the flavours and the story behind each dram.

The story of Glencadam…

A visit to Glencadam begins with a detailed timeline, setting the scene for both the region and the distillery’s history.

Beyond the iconic big red door lies a fully immersive experience, designed to bring the story of Glencadam to life through space, sound, and atmosphere.

So what’s behind the door? You’ll have to go and see for yourself.

Creating a new chapter in a resilient spirit’s history...

Working alongside and Angus Dundee Distillers, we helped bring the new Visitor Centre for / to life, blending contemporary design with the character of the original building.

Our role was to design the visitor experience, including a welcoming reception and retail space, café and function suite, tasting areas, VIP spaces and integrated signage and wayfinding. At its heart is an immersive audio-visual exhibition that brings the Glencadam story to life.

The retail experience is warm and authentic, showcasing whisky alongside local produce. Natural timber and stone are paired with the signature Glencadam blue, while bespoke features such as the waterwheel display and ‘fill your own’ whisky station create memorable moments for visitors.

Engagement through interaction…

A closer look at the interpretive and environmental design within the new Rainforest House

The experience has been designed to encourage active engagement with interpretation, using interactive elements such as rotational reveals, doors, and layered moments of discovery. These interventions prompt visitors to move, pause, and explore. Deepening their connection with the educational story of the space, the species housed and the Zoo’s conservation messages.

Interpretation is embedded throughout, promoting reading and discovery as part of the journey rather than a passive encounter.

Alongside this, careful consideration has been given to animal requirements. Glazing graphics are designed not only to enhance visitor experience but also to provide visual screening and retreat spaces for the animals, supporting natural behaviours and comfort.

Material choices throughout respond to the high-humidity environment required for the habitat, ensuring durability, performance, and long-term resilience within a demanding tropical setting.

Immersion is in the details…

A closer look at the design thinking behind the new Rainforest House

Careful consideration of materials, colours, lighting, and planting has allowed the Rainforest House to become an immersive tropical environment for all visitors.

Glazing graphics complement the animal habitat design, encouraging visitors to peek through layers of rainforest foliage to discover the species within. A four-metre suspended canopy introduces shifting light levels with a strong overhead presence, drawing the eye down and immersing visitors within the forest floor. Gobo lighting further enhances this, casting layered canopy shadows that add texture and a secondary depth of immersion to the space.

All of this sits within an architecture-led approach that respects, complements, and accentuates the heritage of the existing structure.

A Victorian-era monkey house reimagined…

Working with , we transformed the former South American House, a building dating back to the late 1860s. As one of the Zoo’s oldest existing structures, it has seen decades of reinvention, with its newest chapter becoming the Rainforest House.

Retaining the character of the original architecture, the design introduces a layered, immersive environment inspired by tropical rainforest conditions and colours.

At the heart of the project is the experience itself. Visitors can now step into a living rainforest and connect more closely with the species than ever before.

History comes alive at Caerphilly Castle...

Following two years of careful conservation, Caerphilly Castle has reopened its doors, revealing an engaging blend of heritage and innovation. Brought to life through our interpretive design and 3D projection mapping and touchscreen interactive, the experience transforms the Great Hall, gatehouse and inner ward into immersive storytelling spaces, where dynamic digital exhibits transport visitors back to the early 1300s.

From royal feasts to tales of power, betrayal and hidden treasures, the castle’s stories now unfold in vivid, engaging ways, connecting past and present like never before.

History isn’t just preserved here, it’s experienced.
