John Gray's Edinburgh Exhibition

John Gray's Edinburgh Exhibition JOHN GRAY'S EDINBURGH exhibition of paintings at Scottish Story Telling Centre, John Knox House, Roy I was born in Greenock and educated in Edinburgh.

I studied painting in London, Guildford and Hull. Since completing my degree course in Hull in 1974, I have had many one man and group exhibitions and my work has been included in many public and private collections of Modern Art. In 1977, I was appointed Fellow in Fine Art at the University of Nottignham and moved to Lincolnshire in 1979. I now run Riverbank Gallery and Studios in Spalding with m

y partner Helen Webber and divide my time between part-time teaching and painting. During the last few years I have been working on a series of large scale oil paintings of Edinburgh. 'JOHN GRAY'S EDINBURGH', the series of large scale paintings, drawings and prints is ready for exhibitionand will go on show at the Whitespace in Edinburgh from Friday 13th April to Thursday 26th April. This is the first time all of the series has been shown together, with many of the paintings being recalled from collectors.

Hi all art friends just a bit of an update , I have been asked to take part in an event that is being initiated by South Holland district council to coincide with the South Holland open Arts exhibition . It is bringing together local artists and local businesses and for that I am getting together with the Lincolnshire Poacher , pub, and we have come up with "Feast of Art" which is a meal and a glass of wine followed by a talk by me on my Edinburgh series of paintings all for an inclusive price of £8.95 on Monday March 9th. Booking must be done through the Poacher and there is a limited number of places so book soon. There will also be an exhibition of prints and paintings from my Edinburgh series as well as some paintings by Mo Teeuw. For this event there is a special private view to the South Holland Open Exhibition between 6pm &7pm for those booked on to "Feast of Art" hope. To see you there.

Hi all , just an update on John Gray's Edinburgh Exhibition. I have been invited back to Edinburgh to put a slightly reduced version of last years show. It will be at the Scottish Storytelling Centre from May 29th-june29th,with open day and meet the artist day on Friday May 31. The venue is in "John Knox House" the oldest House in Edinburgh's Royal Mile, right in the centre of the old town. Last year's show at Whitespace Gallery was really good and as a result of a double page spread in the Edinburgh Evening news, and some really good reviews , attracted more visitors to the gallery than they had to any previous show. I don't expect that kind of press coverage this time, but expect many more visitors.
