This International Women’s Day, we’re celebrating the women across Storm ID who shape our work, our culture and our impact every day. We’re also reflecting on the importance of creating a digital sector where women can thrive, lead and shape what comes next. There’s still more to do across our industry, and we’re committed to playing our part

For this year’s International Women’s Day theme, , we asked Zoe, Angelique and Asha:

- What are you proud of in your career so far?
- Inclusion matters because…
- What advice would you give to women starting out in digital / tech?

Automate tasks, not jobs
The AI opportunity for Scotland's public services
───
We’ve published new research examining where AI can most credibly reduce administrative burden across Scotland’s public services, guided by a clear principle throughout: automate tasks, not jobs.

The paper analyses 50 high volume public service workflows and focuses on capacity release, or time back. By 2030, AI could credibly release between ~16.6m and ~62.1m staff hours per year across health, education, local government, policing, justice and other public bodies, returning time to doctors, nurses, teachers, case workers and many other frontline professionals.

We hope this provides a useful input into the ongoing conversation about how Scotland moves from pilots to safely operating transformational AI enabled services at scale.

05/02/2026

Demand is rising and budgets are constrained across Scotland’s public services, but there’s a way forward.

Our forthcoming whitepaper looks at how AI can return millions of hours to Scotland’s frontline teams, identifies the common patterns across 50 high volume public services and lays out a practical roadmap for adoption.

Look out for 'Automate tasks, not jobs: The AI Opportunity for Scotland's Public Services', dropping on Monday, 9 February.

Shhh… we’re making a bit of noise in the library world. 📚

Storm ID has been awarded Bronze in the Digital Product Development category at the BIMA (British Interactive Media Association) Awards for our work with the National Library of Scotland on transforming https://www.nls.uk. 👏

Together with the Library, we’ve created a future-ready digital front door to Scotland’s national collections, making it easier for readers, researchers and communities to discover and engage with stories, knowledge and cultural heritage online.

What a way to kick off the week. We’re delighted to share that Storm ID has been shortlisted in the BIMA (British Interactive Media Association) Awards 2025 in the Digital Product Development category for our work on transforming the online presence for National Library of Scotland.

This project has been a labour of love, reimagining nls.uk to better serve everyone, from researchers and students to people simply curious about Scotland’s documentary heritage. We rebuilt the site from the ground up with accessibility, discoverability and user focus embedded throughout.

Help us reshape SEPA’s website structure!
───
We’re working with the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) to improve how their website is organised, and we’d love your input.

As part of our user experience research, we’re running a 'tree test' to understand how people naturally look for information on environmental topics. Your feedback will directly influence how the website is structured, making it easier for everyone to find what they need.

Whether you're a business needing environmental permits, someone who checks flood warnings, a student researching pollution data, or just someone who cares about Scotland's environment - your perspective matters.

What's involved?
───
It only takes 10 minutes, and your input will help shape a website that serves thousands of people across Scotland more effectively.
