“These Walls Made Us”
A piece about the old Glasgow tenements and the stories that lived inside them.
This one ended up meaning a lot more to me than just painting another wall. Whilst designing and working on it I found myself hearing loads of old family stories about growing up in Glasgow, the people, the flats, the routines, the chaos and the community that came with it all. Felt like every person I spoke to had their own memory tied to these buildings.
I wanted the piece to feel simple and honest. Wee glimpses into different windows, everyday life, washing hanging out, neighbours talking through windows, the weans howling and old wifeys staring out into the street. The kind of stuff that disappears over time but still sticks in people’s heads forever.
Massive thanks to and the team for everything. And special shoutout to my main man for being an absolute elite lift jockey all weekend 🙌🏼
Really proud of this one. Glasgow forever 🤍
