Why bother trying to get press coverage? It doesn't work, right!?

This scientific study published in March 2021 analysed the relation between a company‘s visibility in the press and stock returns of U.S. firms ranging from 1924 to 2019.
Researchers Michael Ungeheuer and Alexander Hillert found that brands with persistently higher levels of media visibility, including press, exhibited predictably higher returns, higher sales and profitability growth.
Seems like a good enough reason to get noticed!
