Delighted to share some good news — I’ve been shortlisted for Networker of the Year at the Thames Valley Business & Community Awards 🙌

Networking has never just been about business for me — it’s about people.

I genuinely love meeting new people, hearing their stories, understanding their challenges, and helping them move forward and succeed.

Strong businesses are built on strong relationships and trust.
Nearly 28 years ago, when I started my first business, others gave me their time, advice, support and belief. This feels like a chance to pay that forward — to be the person who connects, encourages, and opens doors for others where I can.

Thank you to everyone who’s trusted me, worked with me, and been part of the journey so far.

Win or lose, I’m proud to stand for what real networking should be about — helping each other grow.

What a way to wrap up the year 🎉

We had a brilliant turnout at this month’s Entrepreneurs Circle Local Meeting – our final event of the year – held earlier this week at the fantastic Borough Beer House in Farnham.

A cracking venue, great drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic), tasty pizzas, and most importantly… proper conversations.

From 6pm right through to last orders, the place was buzzing with business owners sharing ideas, challenges, wins, and a fair few laughs.

Huge thanks to everyone who came along and helped make it such a relaxed, welcoming, and valuable evening.

This is exactly what local business networking and business education should feel like.

Looking forward to fresh things in the new year – but for now, that felt like the perfect way to sign off for 2025 🍻

🌙 As darkness falls across the land, an intrepid group of entrepreneurs are gathering at the International Conference Centre in Birmingham for the National Entrepreneur Awards and the Entrepreneur’s Circle Annual Conference.

Over the next two days, we’ll be diving into marketing, mindset, and business growth – learning from the very best to help business owners across the UK grow stronger companies, create more jobs, and make families and communities wealthier.

Last year’s theme was persistence – and it couldn’t have been more relevant. It’s been a challenging 12 months for many businesses, but the truth is, as long as you’re still in the game, you can affect the outcome. That’s why it’s so inspiring to see so many familiar faces who will be celebrating another year in business at this year’s conference.

The biggest learnings in business often come from outside your own industry, which is why this is such a great opportunity to share ideas, network, and discover what’s working right now – in both marketing and across different sectors. After all, success leaves clues.

I’m proud to be heading there, not just as a business owner, but as an Entrepreneur’s Circle Certified Coach.

For almost 15 years, I’ve been involved with the EC, and many of the strategies and techniques they’ve shared have been game-changers in my own journey. They’ve helped me achieve the success I enjoy today – and now I get to help others do the same.

Spent an incredible day with Steven Bartlett and a small group of business owners with Entrepreneurs Circle earlier this year.

One big takeaway really hit home: as business owners, we often underestimate just how much of our time and energy SHOULD be focused on recruitment.

Our businesses only grow as fast as our teams grow. Yet how often do we find ourselves stuck in the weeds, when the real question is:

👉 How much time are we actually spending hunting for and attracting the very best people into our organisations?

It’s a mindset shift.

Recruitment isn’t a distraction from growing the business — it is growing the business.

The right people multiply your efforts, amplify your vision, and create the momentum you can’t achieve alone.

A powerful reminder to make hiring and building the right team a top priority.

It's probably the thing holding our business back from growth.

The next question becomes, who do we need to bring into the business first?
