We’re proud to be part of Exeter’s employee-owned business community, and this June we’re teaming up with fellow EO businesses: Coastal Recycling, Market Carpets Ltd and Stephens Scown to help give something back to the city. 🗑️

On Friday 19 June, we’re co-hosting The Big EO Clean Up 2026, encouraging businesses across Exeter to organise a litter pick with their team, before joining us at Stephens Scown's offices for networking, refreshments and a chance to learn more about the employee owned business model.

We’re excited to be co-organising 'The Big EO Clean Up 2026' this June alongside Coastal Recycling, Market Carpets Ltd and Stephens Scown. 🧹🌍

To celebrate EO Day on Friday 19 June, we’re inviting businesses across Exeter to come together for a city-wide litter pick and networking reception.

We believe this year’s EO Day theme, 'Owning It', is all about taking shared responsibility for the places where we live and work, and we’d love other Exeter businesses to get involved.

Businesses can spend the morning litter picking either in the city centre or in their own local area before joining us at for refreshments at Stephens Scown's office in Southernhay from 1 – 2pm.
There will be an opportunity to meet other businesses and learn more about the employee ownership model from organisations already successfully operating this way.

To celebrate Sir David Attenborough turning 100, we’ve been talking about the most memorable Attenborough moments in the Absolute office. 🌍

Our top four are:

1️⃣ The lovely gorilla encounter in Rwanda from Life on Earth back in 1979, where a female gorilla patted Attenborough on the head, and two baby gorillas removed his shoes.

2️⃣ The heartbreaking scene in 2017's Blue Planet II showing albatross chicks being fed plastic unknowingly by their parents. A moment that genuinely changed conversations around ocean pollution.

3️⃣ Then there’s the unforgettable encounter with a leatherback turtle, also from Blue Planet II, where Attenborough laid on a beach in the Caribbean next to a giant leatherback turtle, the largest turtle species on Earth.

4️⃣ And finally, Lonesome George in the 2013 series Galapagos 3D – the last Pinta Island tortoise, who was born in 1910. Attenborough’s quiet reflection on George’s fragility, rarity and symbolism was deeply moving. Knowing George died less than two weeks later made the moment even more profound. A powerful reminder of how precious and vulnerable our natural world really is.

Sir David Attenborough turns 100 today.🎉

For a century, he has helped shape how we see the natural world. Generations have grown up watching his work and caring more about the world because of it; that’s not something many people can say.👏
