💬 “Chantelle is an absolute style genius, and such a lovely person. I’ve always dreamt of having a stylist and now I do it’s everything I wished for and more. Before I met Chantelle, I was rarely able to find outfits that made me feel fabulous, and I had that sinking feeling when I looked in my wardrobe and couldn’t find anything to wear (even though it was bursting at the seams). I now have an exciting wardrobe full of outfit choices and I receive so many compliments when I wear a ‘Chantelle outfit’! Over the years that Chantelle has been helping me, I’ve had personal shopping sessions and wardrobe management, both in person and virtually. Every time Chantelle has brought her creative genius (even during the pandemic). She really listened to my needs and took time to find the right things within my budget. In the long run I’ve saved money (and time), with no more items laying unworn at the back of the wardrobe and I can quickly make up a feel-good outfit. Thank you Chantelle!!.”

Some Mondays just feel different.

At the start of the week, I had my first meeting with Simon Scott-Nelson, and I have a feeling this one is going to be a turning point.

I've been following Simon for a few years, ever since his work building Wellity Global into one of the most respected names in corporate wellbeing. When I saw his recent post putting himself out there for founders and entrepreneurs who wanted to grow, I knew I had to reach out.

Because that is exactly what I am building with STRIBE.

Having recently secured angel investment, the timing felt right to bring in someone who truly understands this space. The vision is to turn STRIBE into an award-winning corporate employee style benefit and perk - helping organisations invest in the confidence, presence, and professional identity of their people. Simon gets that, he gets the mission, he gets the values, and he is genuinely excited about helping STRIBE grow into the corporate wellbeing space.

Yesterday I confirmed what I hoped. Our values aligned, our energy aligned, and I cannot wait to see what we build together.

And to top off what was already a brilliant Monday, our meeting was at Courtyard Marriott Exeter Sandy Park, where I bumped into the lovely Amy Walker, Katherine Dyer, and the one and only Rosie Parsons. Having not seen anyone for a couple of weeks, that reconnection felt like a real bonus!

And who better to capture the moment than award-winning photographer and Slay Your Selfies course creator, Rosie herself? She’s the best in the business and I am so glad she was there.

Here's to new partnerships, shared missions, and Mondays that surprise you.

By putting yourself out there who knows what the wins will be? Looking forward to seeing what next week brings.

Have you talked yourself out of doing something this week?

I went to a event in Weston-super-Mare today and I’m SO pleased I went!

As a business owner there’s always work to do, but when you’re also a solopreneur, and doing everything yourself, it’s very easy to say to yourself you’re too busy.

This week has been the week for face to face meetings, online interactions and catching up with a few of my favourite business owners.

Today was an energising morning and that’s what real life connection brings - so I’m definitely invested in more of that.

I’ve only been a member of the Somerset Chamber for a couple of months and this was my first event.

After today, I’m really looking forward to attending more gatherings in the next couple of months!

If you’re a Chamber member too, from any region, it would be amazing to connect with you ✨

Today is Social Mobility Day. And it's personal to me.

I was adopted from Indonesia and grew up in Devon. For most of my life, I was the only person in the room who looked like me with brown skin, Asian features, and no idea what was expected of me in the rooms I was walking into.

I didn't grow up with access to the unwritten codes of professional image - the ones that tell you how to dress for the boardroom, how to walk into a room and own it, how to signal that you belong.

Nobody handed me those rules. I had to learn them myself.

Over 20 years, I've worked with hundreds of exceptional leaders and senior professionals, many from social mobility backgrounds, navigating spaces that still carry invisible dress codes nobody thought to explain.

One client stepped into a new Director role feeling uncertain of what to wear. We worked together to align her image with the leader she had already become. She didn't just look different, she felt empowered and her peers responded differently too.

Presence. Confidence. Personal image. These things are not superficial - they are strategic.
That's why I created STRIBE - a corporate style programme and employee benefit built around levelling the playing field without singling anyone out and empowering every employee to show up as their most confident, authentic self.

If you're investing in DEI, leadership development, or wellbeing, and personal image isn't yet part of your agenda, I'd love to have that conversation.

The organisations who get this are the ones who will attract and keep the best people.

Feel free to book a discovery call.

Nobody talks about what it's like to stand in front of your wardrobe and feel completely lost.

Not just "I have nothing to wear" but genuinely disconnected from your clothes. From your body. From the person you're supposed to show up as today.

One of my clients came to me after having her second baby. Her figure had changed, nothing felt right, and she didn't have the time or headspace to fix it. She had a business to run and two children to raise.

Sound familiar?

We did a full wardrobe edit, donated her clothes to charity, identified the gaps, then went shopping on the high street (all within her budget!) and built her a wardrobe that worked.

That was over ten years ago and she still wears many of those pieces today!

Her only complaint now? "I've got too much choice."

This is what people get wrong about working with a stylist. They think it's a luxury, a one-off treat or something you do when you've "made it."

But it's not. It's one of the most practical investments you can make in yourself.

Because here's what I know after 20 years of doing this work:

The days you feel least confident are the days your image matters most.

Another client, someone I've dressed through pregnancy, a new relationship and marriage, building her own business, receiving her MBE, and speaking at the House of Lords, messaged me recently.

She'd been wearing a dress I'd chosen for her and three strangers stopped her in one day to tell her how lovely she looked.

"It absolutely made my month."

And here's what nobody tells you.

You don't have to feel confident to look it.

When your wardrobe has been built with real skill and intention, you can throw on an outfit your stylist has put together for you without a second thought, and still walk out looking and feeling the part.

The work has already been done. You just have to get dressed!

When you work with a skilled stylist, you're not just buying clothes. You're buying back your time, your confidence and your peace of mind every single morning.

Your image is always speaking whether you like it or not.

The question is whether it's saying what you need it to say, especially on the days when you need it most.

Are you ready to build a wardrobe that works as hard as you do? Link in bio.

Here's something I've been wanting to say for a while.

A lot of people think style is superficial. They think what I do is just about the clothes - nice to buy, nice to wear, but not really that important.

And I used to let that go but I don't anymore. Because after 20 years of doing this work and working with so many incredible people, here's what I know.

When you don't feel like yourself in what you're wearing, you want to hide. You hold yourself back without even realising you're doing it, and you walk into rooms already making yourself smaller.

A lot of people I work with know their wardrobe isn't making them feel good, but they just keep making do.

And when I ask why, it's almost never really about money.

Honestly? It's about not feeling worth the investment.

That one gets me every time because I know that feeling, and I've lived it.

Growing up as the only person who looked like me in the room, style became the thing that gave me permission to just be myself. It let me show up feeling like me, and that was enough.

There's nothing more important than being happy being you, and honestly, who else is going to do that for you?

It's not about having a perfect wardrobe, the right labels or the latest trends. It's about building a solid foundation of practical, versatile clothes that actually work for your life and make you feel good when you put them on.

Clothes that feel like you.

It's time to stop dressing to impress and start dressing to express who you are.

Because when you start dressing for you, something really changes, and I believe it's empowerment and readiness. You stop waiting to feel ready, you stop second guessing yourself, and you just feel like yourself.

And that's the start of something really exciting for you!

Have you ever felt like your clothes just aren't quite telling your story? I'd love to hear your thoughts. 👇🏽

People sometimes ask me how I ended up doing this work. The honest answer is that style was never just about clothes for me.

I was adopted from Indonesia and grew up in Devon. It's a beautiful place, but I always knew I looked different and I felt different. As a teenager, that was something I tried to make sense of through what I wore - fitting in, standing out, experimenting with fashion until something started to feel like me. I enjoyed being a chameleon changing my style to complement my mood!

Fashion became my way of belonging and figuring out who I was and probably expressing things I didn't yet have the words for. I've used style like that ever since, through different chapters of my life, and I still use it that way today.

That experience is at the heart of everything I do with my clients now. Because helping a woman feel like herself in her clothes is not a small thing, it's one of the most personal kinds of work there is.

So if you're feeling disconnected from your style right now, I want you to know two things. It's more common than you might think and it can absolutely change.

How long did it take you to get dressed this morning?

If it regularly takes longer than it should, leaves you feeling flat before the day has even started, or ends with you reaching for the same safe option again because nothing else felt quite right - that's a signal worth paying attention to.

It's not about being indecisive and it’s not about having bad taste.

It's usually about one of two things. Either your wardrobe isn't working as a system, or the pieces in it are no longer quite right for your shape, your lifestyle, or the version of you that exists right here, right now.

When those two things are sorted, getting dressed really does become quicker. I know this from the amazing feedback I’ve had from so many clients I’ve worked with over the years.

I work with women who have incredibly busy lives. Time is one of the things they value most and a wardrobe that works properly gives them a little of that time back, every single morning.

It may seem like a small thing but over a week, a month, a year - it really adds up.

If you want a cohesive wardrobe that saves you time, I’d be delighted to help!

22/05/2026

Something I learned early in life and something that shapes everything I do as a stylist is that being different is not something to hide.

I grew up knowing I didn't look like everyone around me. So I used style as a way to express my personality, while still dressing in a way that let me fit in and feel confident.

Friends started to notice, the compliments came and quietly, my confidence began to build. Without realising it at the time, I'd started using style to express who I was and I haven't stopped since!

Leaning into that changed everything.

I see a version of this story in so many of my clients. Women who've spent years dressing for other people's expectations or for what their industry dictates, for what they think they should wear at their age, for what they hope will help them blend in or stay unnoticed altogether.

What I’d love for every client I work with is the confidence to dress for themselves in a way that truly feels like who they are.

Because that is where real confidence comes from - from the inside out. Not from following rules, but from knowing yourself well enough to stop needing them. It’s about wearing clothes with conviction and confidence, which I know is easier said than done.

It doesn't happen overnight. It's a step-by-step process. But once you start dressing consistently as the woman you actually are - that's when your mindset begins to catch up!
