Today I am grateful for a job which gives me the chance to work with my own offspring.

What if the reason your ads aren't working is because you're changing them too much?

Meta's algorithm update last summer taught us one big lesson: stop tweaking. Accounts that did saw dramatic improvements, in one case, cost per purchase dropped 18% and ROAS jumped from 4.37x to 6.94x.

Instead of going back into Ads Manager, focus here:

→ Analyse your messaging before changing anything
→ Use your website and emails as inspiration for new creatives
→ Test AI-generated images
→ Align your messaging to the season
→ Make sure Commerce Manager and Events Manager are tracking correctly
→ Connect your first-party data - email lists, customer lists. Klaviyo works beautifully with ads manager!
→ If you're on Google Ads too, make sure both channels are working together

Then simplify, let it settle, and resist the urge to keep editing.

A quiet 2025 reflection 🤍

This year, I worked closely with a handful of small business clients to turn paid ads into a reliable growth channel not a guessing game, while navigating some big shake ups in the Meta ads delivery engine.

Across just 3 of my small business clients in 2025

£30,954 ad spend
£121,920 in tracked revenue
3.94x ROAS (nearly £4 back for every £1 spent)

Behind these numbers were very different businesses:
– one rebuilding foundations and returning to Meta Ads after a year long break
– one scaling carefully
– one proving you don’t need big budgets to get strong returns

Important note:
These figures don’t include any agency freelance work I’ve done this year just a snapshot of select small business clients I manage directly.
