Security researchers at Pentest People have repurposed their open source intelligence (OSINT) expertise to create a Dark Web Monitoring Service that searches for clues that could indicate that a company's stolen data is being offered for sale on the dark web. The service provides organisations with an early warning system to help them to respond more rapidly and comply with EU GDPR data breach reporting rules

Great to see Pentest People recognised among the Digital Enterprise Top 100 for quickly developing its SecureGateway to allow vulnerability testing to continue while security consultants were working from home. As a result, the company has continued to increase its business and employed more people, in spite of the pandemic. Congratulations to your team Andrew Mason.

Cybersecurity consultancy, Pentest People, has been named in the Digital Enterprise Top 100 list of the Leeds city region’s most resilient businesses that use digital technologies in the most innovative and transformational ways.

A year ago today, I sat down with Martin Clausen and Neil Drought, founders of 'Can You Teach Me That?' to discuss what led me to switch from teaching to B2B tech PR. While I shared my story with them, it became clear that my career, and life, had been shaped by 5 crucial conversations.

As the charity YoungMinds encourages people to get involved with on 10th October, I thought I'd take this opportunity to thank all the people who took the time to sit down with me, listen, guide and set me on the right path, and to encourage young people, or anyone at a crossroads in their career, to keep talking. You never know where that next conversation will take you.

A year ago today I sat down to have a video call with Martin Clausen and Neil Drought, founders of the ‘Can You Teach Me That?’ podcast. Watching it back on the anniversary of our discussion, it’s interesting to see how little has changed since we spoke on 7th October 2019, in spite of the glo...

Many years ago I stayed at a campsite where new arrivals were offered an empty beer keg, which had been cut in half to form a handy base for a camp fire. I discovered that night that I am useless at building camp fires. What I didn't realise was that I was handling stolen goods. Beer kegs remain the property of the brewer and it is an offence to keep hold of them after use. Keg loss costs the global brewing industry an eye-watering $500 million a year.
To tackle the problem, asset-tracking company, Keg Hounds and RFID-pioneer, Omni-ID, developed a cost effective tag that clips inside the lip of the keg without welding, doesn't get knocked off when barrels are stacked, and can withstand British weather. I'll drink to that.

Warehousing & Logistics International has the story..

Passive RFID tag tracks stray barrels, helps breweries cut costs as hospitality industry reopens . Omni-ID, the pioneer of passive industrial

Nick Booth rounds up the tech innovations that have emerged to help international governments to implement contagion control without infringing mobile users' data privacy (COVID Community Alert); to help NHS admins to set up priority networks for emergency workers, without having to figure out virtual private networks (NetFoundry), and using sewage antibody monitors to identify fresh outbreaks of coronavirus (Cranfield University).

Super spreaders to be isolated by CCA, essential workers get an essential network from NetFoundry and the IoT creates a faecal recognition system to combat the Covid-19 virus.
