Design evolution ✨ Now / Then ✨While prepping my portfolio for a wedding invitation consultation next week, I revisited one of my longest-running collections: the Love Airways Collection.

Originally created for Claire & Darren’s destination wedding in Mexico 10 years ago - happy 10th anniversary to them! 🥂❤️

Looking back at the original design compared to today is a reminder of how important it is to evolve. Trends change, skills grow, and (of course) fonts get updated. The biggest difference? Definitely the typography. The newer version is cleaner, more refined, and much easier to read.

But the heart of the design remains the same… which is probably why couples are still choosing it a decade later.

A little Thursday throwback to one of the most fun design briefs from my early days of Laura Reece ✨

While reorganising and sorting through images yesterday, I stumbled across Emma & Jimmy’s wedding stationery, and it instantly made me smile!

The brief was pretty self-explanatory, but it’s always exciting when a couple brings something completely out of the box and fully embraces the creative journey. This one was all about a Match Day theme - from invitations and seating plans to favour tags, place cards, a selfie board, and all the extra little details tied in seamlessly.

The ‘Match Day Collection’ is available online, with samples across all designs if you’d like to take a closer look.

Happy Sunday! 🤍 I’ve had a few enquiries this week about destination wedding stationery - Italy is definitely my personal favourite!

The question I get asked most is: “When should I send out the invites?”

For weddings abroad, I usually recommend sending Save the Dates 9–12 months before the big day, followed by invitations around 6 months before.

This gives guests plenty of time to plan, book time off work, and secure flights, while also giving you ample time to coordinate with your venue and event team.
