g tool for years to come. My business model focuses on excellent client service and personalised creative branding strategies. Through my initial interview process, client questionnaires, phone calls and ongoing communication – I find out exactly what you're looking for and bring your vision to life. You will work directly with me as we design the perfect brand style for your business. THE HISTORY

“Start with the heart”, is something I always remember my Grandmother saying; and she was absolutely right. I followed my heart into the creative industry where every day was different. I fell in love with the opportunity to conceptualise and bring ideas to life for TV campaigns, direct mail pieces, radio ads and email campaigns. It’s this decade long experience that has given me the tools to build my own design company with the desire to help others discover the heart of their business and make it a visual reality. The drive to make meaningful connections drew me to Bristol, a city that matches my creative enthusiasm and it’s here that I base my business. I have been blessed to work with many inspired individuals and business owners across the country delivering branding, name and strapline generation, website design, art direction, graphic design and photography. THE DESIGNER

Helping small businesses to flourish and grow with the right branding is the biggest thrill. Originally born in South Wales, I’ve always been inspired by design and craft. I spent my teenage years figuring out how to make a talent for art into a career before stumbling across a Graphic Design + Advertising degree at Buckinghamshire University. The following decade was spent working in ad agencies throughout London before moving to Bristol to start a family. When I’m not sketching ideas or scrolling through Pinterest I love dancing in my kitchen to cheesy 80’s playlists, making anything that includes pipe cleaners with my children and hanging out with my besties over cake and a cup of tea (it’s all about the tea – I’ve never drunk coffee in my life!). I would love to hear more about you and your amazing business, so please do get in touch to have a chat today.

Finishing the week with a face to face.
Not gonna lie, this is probably one of the scariest posts I’ve done.
If you’ve ever scrolled to the bottom of my feed you’ll realise that I have never shared a photo of myself. Ever.
The reason for this?
Because I always believed, I’m too fat, I’ve got grey hair, wrinkles, dark circles under my eyes, I’m not Insta beautiful.

But do you know what? The wrinkles are laughter lines, the grey hair I inherited from my dad, the dark circles are from designing brands I love into the wee hours of the morning, the curves are from having too much fun celebrating with friends.
I’m not picture perfect, but hey, this is me.

And I’d like to introduce myself…
• Hey! I’m Louise, and I’m addicted to designing.
• It’s my passion and what I’m good at.
• I live in Bristol, but spent 10 years living in London having the time of my life in some of the best advertising agencies.
• I used to work with my husband (yup, every day, all day).
• But now we both run our own businesses – I still hit him up for advice and help with stuff I can’t work out in Creative Cloud though.
• I have two amazing boys and two cats that drive me mental (why oh why did I choose two long haired cats??!!).
• I’ve never drunk a cup of coffee in my life (it’s the smell!).
• I used to run the local W.I. so I could meet like minded women who love to craft.
• I’m originally from Wales and can say that really long train station.
• Red wine is my go to glass on a Friday evening to celebrate another successful week.

So there you are!

If I could share any advice for how I got to this point…
Feel the fear and do it anyway, find a photographer that ‘gets you’ and captures the true essence of you, feel comfortable in what you’re wearing and be natural, all of your quirks are what make you unique.

And in the words of Mama Ru “If you can’t love yourself, how in the hell are you gonna love somebody else?!”
Can I get and “Amen!!”.

Sage Tips for NAMING YOUR BUSINESS.

Every now and then a great opportunity comes along where a new client asks if I can help them with naming their business.
It’s not a service I’ve openly shared before, because it is such an intense process it can take longer than the client may have available.

But setting the basic foundations of your business from the very beginning can save you a lot of hard work further down the line.

I have a client in the pipeline who is just about to go through this process and having helped several businesses in the past, I thought I’d share my top tips to help get you started.

- ⚡Remember who you’re talking to:
These people are the lifeblood of your business, you want them to follow and invest in you. So what they think matters.
Yes, you want to be happy with the name, but choosing something random that only you understand will not reach them on any level.
Keep it simple, clear and ultimately convey your business offering.

- ⚡Research, the re-search:
Thinking of a name is the easy part. Finding a URL of that name may not be as clear cut as you think.
It’s important to differentiate yourself from your competitors but you also need to find something that hasn’t already been taken.

- ⚡Say it loud, and say it proud!
Saying it in your head isn’t the same as saying it out loud. You have to be comfortable selling your business and if you feel uneasy answering the phone with it, it’s probably best to keep exploring.

- ⚡A strong foundation:
Putting in the work and research from the very beginning means that your business gets off on the right foot.
If your 5 year plan sees you evolving from a Solopreneur to a team of five, it’s probably best not to go with something based just around you.
After building up a buzz or a great following, you don’t want to lose traction by altering it further down the line.

And after all of that, if you’re still nervous or want to bounce ideas around before you start, feel free to drop me a line and we can work together to create something amazing.

Don’t forget to save this post for the future!!

Confidence is key…

and that’s what the amazing ladies who started want to help you realise.
Working with Jessie and Carrie was a dream, and their vision for the brand was honest and empowering.

They started their online course to give women life tools to broaden their horizons and help them adapt to a new way of thinking. Supporting women to see their potential and stop the bombardment of negative self-talk.

This design was inspired by the dawn of a new day.
The concept of rebirth and discovery – of a fresh direction and new outlook on life.
The typography has a natural vibe with a stamped effect, curved into a gentle arch that emulates a sunrise; or a bridge from where you are, to where you want to be.
The type is offset with a rising sun circle, depicting a new dawn.
The descriptor ‘Body Confidence’ sits neatly under the main arch with a graphic of wavy lines to reflect the fluidity of the sea, as well as the modules within the programme.

This isn’t the concept they went with in the end, but I love the brand story behind this one and wanted to share it with you.

If you need someone to talk to or help with body confidence issues, I encourage you to give them a follow…

BRAND LAUNCH //
I’m thrilled to be able to reveal this stunning new brand for which launched this week. 🎉

Kate and Debs from came to me looking for a fresh look for their sister brand Love Hair University a few weeks ago.

They wanted something cool, attractive, beautiful and clean to inspire their target market to either retrain or level up in colour specialism and hair education.

I created a monogram of their initials, inspired by traditional universities and designed a badge around it that echoed the geometric nature of the current salon branding.

It all came together beautifully, and I’m so pleased to see them using the new branding on all their social and customer touch points.

Hair’s to a beautiful future ladies!! 💁🏼‍♀️😅

//CONFIDENCE
I always tell my clients to trust their gut when it comes to branding decisions.

Have the confidence in the knowledge that you know your business inside and out. So when it comes to making decisions - I truly believe - that your gut will guide you.

It’s so easy to ask friends, family, the post man for their opinions, but if they aren’t your ideal customer it will just cause more confusion than clarity.

Believe in yourself and good things will follow.

I’m absolutely thrilled to finally be able to share with you this amazing rebrand for the fantastic

Formerly known as they are a brilliant husband and wife team who run the most beautiful vintage tea room with a speciality in hand selected vintage wedding dresses.

Kate and Will came to me last year and knew they wanted a change. Having inherited the original shop name, they had a vision for the future of their business and the old branding just didn’t match up.

The inspiration was well established shops that offer everything from personalised experiences to quality clothing - and that is what they have created.

The new name puts them at the very heart of everything they do and the new brand had to evoke that.
With a delicate scripted ampersand and modern serif typeface the brand has been given a new lease of life.

I hope you love it as much as we do!!
Go check out their page to see a tour of the shop transformation and the stunning hand painted version of the main logo on the shopfront.

As a designer there’s no greater thrill than seeing what you have designed come to
life - and they’ve done a beautiful job.

Loved exploring type options for this lush rebrand I’m working on

Some people collect beautiful trinkets or shoes - I collect beautiful fonts

(Although my husband would say that my shoe collection is beyond the normal amount required for just two feet!)

I can spend hours looking through and - I may need to start a ‘Font Addicts Anonymous Club’ 😅

What are your favourite fonts right now and where do you find them?
Let me know below and I’ll add you to the club!👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻

Starting Monday off my favourite way with some inspiration board searching 🔍

This is one of my favourite parts of the branding process, as this board will evoke the vibe of the business and inspire the style of imagery

It will also be a tool for my client to refer back to making sure that any visual communications that go out are hitting all the right vibes 🙌🏻

I hope you’re having a happy Monday my loves!!

“Who do you think you’re talking?”
I’m not getting fresh, I promise, but this is something I wanted to discuss on the grid for a minute.

When you started your business, did you imagine who it was you were creating your business for?
Was it yourself?
Or was it your Ideal Customer, who would buy into your brand, support and be part of your journey?

Identifying your Ideal Customer is a crucial part of building a brand and fundamentally, a business.
Having clients/ customers that share the values that you pride your business on, allows for better harmony and partnership. It’s not enough to only consider how you want to come across, you also need to think about the person you want
to influence and how they like to be communicated with.

Part of my Brand process asks clients to really deep dive into who it is we’re talking to. This can affect the entire look and feel of the brand, as well as the kind of typeface and colours we use.

Your Brand Voice is also something that I think gets totally overlooked.
This sets the tone for what your brand stands for and how you’d like your clients/customers to feel when interacting with your brand.
Every communication you put out there should speak with the right tone and convey the vibe of your business.

Think about what defines them; their age, occupation, hobbies and values.
What brands do they buy into?
Why are they drawn to you?
What problem do you solve for them?

With all of this in mind your brand should speak volumes and inevitably build a clientele entirely devoted to your offering.

If this was helpful, don’t forget to save it for later!! 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻
