If someone offered you ÂŁ35 for an hour of your time, would you sell it?

Our recent blog is very thought provoking as it’s all about something we call the £35 test… and it’s a simple way to rethink how you’re spending your time.

If you’re constantly busy but still feel like you’re not getting the right things done in your business, this might resonate. It’s not about working harder, it’s about recognising where your time is best spent and where a little support could make a big difference.

If you’ve ever wondered whether you should be outsourcing some of your admin, this is definitely worth a read: https://www.pink-spaghetti.co.uk/our-blog/the-%C2%A335-test

I speak to a lot of business owners who say they know they should be on social media…

But it ends up feeling like just another thing on the list.

Something to get to ‘when there’s time’.

The problem is, there’s rarely ever time.

And without really noticing, it just keeps getting pushed back.

It doesn’t have to be complicated.

Sometimes it’s just about having a bit of consistency and a clearer idea of what you’re trying to say, so it feels less like a chore and more like something that actually supports your business.

And when things feel busy or overwhelming, having the right support in place can make all the difference, as Natalie shares below.

It’s often just about getting started in a way that feels manageable, and knowing you don’t have to do it all on your own.

I was chatting with someone recently who said they felt guilty about needing help with their admin…

And it really stuck with me.

We seem to have this idea that as business owners we should be able to do everything ourselves.

Spin all the plates, keep everything moving, and somehow never drop the ball.

But the reality is… it’s a lot.

And being “too busy” most of the time isn’t really a badge of honour, it’s usually a sign something needs to change.

That’s where having a bit of support can make a huge difference.

I often say it’s no different to having a cleaner at home.

It’s not about not being able to do it, it’s about choosing not to spend your time there.

The same applies in your business.

Having someone to take things off your plate, keep things organised, and make sure nothing gets missed.

So you’re not constantly feeling like you’re chasing your tail.

We love being that extra pair of hands behind the scenes.

Helping things run a bit more smoothly, and taking away some of that pressure.

If you had five extra hours back this week… what would you do with them?

I sometimes think I’d make a pretty decent secret agent… although I’m definitely better at managing a CRM than I am at anything involving high-speed chases.

In our line of work, discretion isn’t just a policy, it’s a really important part of what we do.

Even though it often goes without saying, I think it’s worth saying it properly: the work we do for you will always be treated with complete confidentiality.

When you hand over your inbox, your data, or your plans, you’re placing a huge amount of trust in us.

And we don’t take that lightly.

Some clients like us to be more visible, others prefer us to work quietly in the background, just keeping everything running smoothly.

Either way works for us.

We’re just as happy being your “invisible” support, making sure everything is taken care of, while you stay front and centre.

Does having that kind of support feel like a help… or something you’re still thinking about?

Working virtually isn’t lonely when you have a fabulous network around you.

Monday and Tuesday have been full of catching up, sharing best practice and designing strategies for the future. Quite exciting to get to do some of this in-person in my local pub with Caroline and the lovely Laura who is one of the newest members of our network running the Mid-Cheshire franchise.

Meanwhile, the need for financial admin has been our most requested task at the moment, so we’ve been onboarding a few new clients who we are supporting with their invoices, expenses and general admin.

One because it’s a task they don’t enjoy and it’s taking them too long, and another because a family member can no longer support them due to ill health, so they want a flexible alternative that enables them to continue business development whilst we take care of things in the background.

Hope your week is going well. Anyone else managed to get out for any lunch meetings?

I had three tabs open this morning… one for a hotel in London, one for catering options, and one comparing venue details.

Not quite the glamorous event planning life you might imagine… but very real.

Because this is the bit people don’t always see.

Planning an event always sounds like the “nice” job doesn’t it?

Until you’re deep into comparing venues, checking menus, working out timings, and suddenly questioning how many plug sockets a room actually needs.

Whether it’s a small team day or something much bigger, it’s the behind-the-scenes detail that takes the time. And usually… it’s your time.

The bit that often gets squeezed in around everything else.

Or ends up taking over your week completely.

That’s where we come in.

We can take on the research, the back-and-forth, the bookings, the logistics… all the pieces that need to come together for it to actually work.

We’ll liaise with venues, organise travel, coordinate with speakers, and make sure everyone knows where they need to be and when.

So you’re not trying to juggle it all alongside running your business.

You just get to turn up, focus on what you need to do, and actually enjoy it.

Are you planning any events this year?

Did you sit down at your desk on Tuesday morning after a lovely long weekend to your inbox overflowing and a to‑do list that has somehow grown longer?

The first day back often includes lots of emails that start with:
“Sorry for the delay - I switched off for a couple of days.”

The big tasks are still exactly where you left them, but the small ones like invoicing, follow‑ups and admin all stack up in the background.

Not because you’re behind. Not because you’re disorganised. But because the moment you pause, the “little things” gather.

The work you love doing rarely causes the overwhelm, it’s everything else and that part can often be outsourced - as it’s usually not what you set your business up to do anyway!

So if your first day back after the bank holiday felt a bit “where do I even start,” you’re not alone. If you’d like the background tasks to keep moving even when you take a well‑earned break, that’s exactly where the right support makes all the difference so let’s chat!
