Wanted to take this opportunity to highlight a superstar on our team.

Dan has gone above and beyond for every one of our clients, and every other day I read emails, comments and have customers telling me at length how Dan has handled their work has been exceptional.

The review on this image is not from some review website, it's literally a single comment on a design system we use to share concepts with clients.

In light of the work, Dan has been producing I had to share this. Absolutely blown away by the quality of Dan's work and it speaks volumes about where the company is heading with him heading up our design work.

One of our video customers just informed me this morning. Videos are known to give great ROI and over time the yield a much higher rate of return.

Why?

With video your customer picks up your passion for the business. On social media they see you speak and learn your mannerisms. It's clear if you know your stuff. This is on their terms. Watching once or many times.

As a company that in the early months was leveraging video to build out our network and client base I know how powerful this can be.

Build your business as if you're selling it. 💰

Surprisingly simple advice, but when you think about it there's nothing but good things that come from that approach.

✔️ A strong focus on the sales processes.
👤 Everything designed to run without you being the person there managing it or working in it.
📈 As well as a health focus on keeping profits and margins in check.

I don't intend to sell Loudon Design. I do see merit in building a business through that lens though.

Are you running a Magento 1 store ?

In just 20 months time Magento will stop support and patching for version one of its platform in favor of Magento 2. Now is the time to plan for that change. Planning ahead of the June cut off will prevent reactive action being rushed when the choice is made for you. The more complexity in your store the more this needs to be a priority.

Reaction is only one rung up from inaction, ensure you plan for the future.

Ask yourself how often do you meet someone in business and then what the materials you were handed looked like. Was it plain A4 run off a coloured printer or worse non-existent and you had to rely on purely your notes?

I was recently talking about the importance of Branded Materials in my BNI chapter; Trailblazers.

Not everyone is natural when it comes to selling. In fact, the stats tell us that only 1 in 10 business people has selling experience. That's also a perfect match for another well-known stat that 90% of businesses fail and go out of business.

A good set of branded material gives your conversations a structured focus and helps you overcome the objections your suspect/prospects may come back to you on.

Do me a favour and collect up what you have by way of branded material for meetings and sales conversations, then ask yourself.

Materials are such an important part of what your business conveys in meetings. Do you have a tired old slide deck? A beat up looking A4 sheet of paper or a slick promotional asset that matches who you are as a business.

This was a recent sales/promotional tool created for Paul Skovron, a talented diversity consultant based right here in Glasgow. If you have seen the film 'Moneyball' with brad pit you will have seen a glimpse and some of the unleveraged potential in hiring a diverse workforce.

FXR Sports is a sports retailer based in Rutherglen, Scotland. Selling direct and through Amazon and eBay they are a strong performer in the Scottish sports market. FXR Sports reached out to Loudon Design because of our experience working with other online sports retailers. They wanted to create a new sports brand and the online store to drive sales forward.

Here's a thought for your Sunday afternoon:

100 Million Internet users watch online video each day.

Granted, a lot of those are watching the latest viral video with a goofy cat or a cute kid, but an awful lot of them are looking for advice on how to do something or how to make something work better.

And a whole lot of them are looking to buy a service or a product.
